First came WWF WrestleMania, then with total improvement came WWF Royal
Rumble. Then came WWF Raw. After came WWF The Arcade Game. The game WWF
Raw allows you to be 12 superstars: Bam Bam Bigelow, Bret Hart, Owen Hart,
Luna Vachon, Yokozuna, Undertaker, 1-2-3 Kid, Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Doink,
Lex Luger, and Razor Ramon. As an proud owner of all of these and of many other
Super NES games, I have to say that WWF Raw is without question one of the best
Games of all time!!!! For all you wrestling fans. This game has almost everything!
This is Xtreme wrestling action! It hasn't been given much recognition as a game
but read this review and you will understand why I say what I do.
Graphics: 8.27 out of 10
The photos are sweet and the game setup's format is very attractive. During the
actual wrestling matches the graphics are very nice. They are not as spectacular
as N64 games but come one this is Super NES. The graphics however are many times
better then SEGA, and they tend to resemble WWF Royal Rumble's graphics. The
motion is fluid and life-like. The wrestling ring and characters are at appropriate
scale. And the whole game has a whole hard-core feel to it.
Music and Sound: 10 out of 10
The intro music of the game really pumps you up for a brawl. It has several actual
voices throughout it also. The wrestler's theme music is very much like the real
thing. As an example Bam Bam's and Diesel music uses actual WAV sounds. Then
there are Male and Female grunts and groans. The Referee's voice is also much
more realistic then before. Then there are new sounds for the foreign objects too.
Then as a new twist, the fans and crowd have life-like sounds too that mimic reality.
Overall a sweet sound presentation.
Game Challenge: 9.5 out of 10
As contrary to WWF Royal Rumble, which many complained to be too easy this game
is A LOT harder. It takes a bit more time to master the fine art of hard-core. As a
FABULOUS new touch, during a tag team match, you do not control you partner, the
computer does. Even better is that you can illegally enter the ring at your own will.
It is a much more challenging game but it is manageable for all ages. It is the
Game Play-Fun: 10 out of 10
This game can keep you playing far into the night, as contrary to WWF Royal Rumble.
It is a lot of fun. The game balances out because some opponents like Luna Vachon and
the 1-2-3 kid cheat non-stop, and players like Lex Luger and Bret Hart do not cheat as
much. This gives a realistic feel to the game. It is even more fun because all the player
have their own individual set of wrestling moves, Finisher moves, and Super-power
moves. The game also has 5 different types of games: 1 on 1, Tag Team, 3 man tag
team, Royal Rumble, Bedlam, and Raw Endurance Challenge. It keeps you playing forever,
or at least for a LOOOOOONGGG time!
If grappling up, and facing a powerful adversary, one can get tied up in a headlock
until someone breaks the hold or gives in. While playing for a long time, you won't
really care about it though. There really is not frustration in this game.
Replayability: 10 out of 10
This game is different every time you play it! Every single wrestler has there own
individual strengths, weaknesses, moves, finishers, super power moves, and mental
attitude. The ref, if hit too many times can leave the arena. This game takes wrestling
to a new level. You can play this game over and over and over. And it never gets boring.
Game Value: 10 out of 10
Since this is not an N64 game, but a Super NES game. This price of this should be pretty
low!!!! I have seen it at prices like $24.99 or $19.99. You can get a used copy for $10
or lower. If you can find it somewhere, ANYWHERE, GET IT!!!!!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT BE
Overall: 10 out of 10
