My brother bought this game when I was about 8. I had no idea what it was, but
when I knew how to play it I played everyday. My brother too. We usually played on a
team. To tell you the truth i didn't want him to get it at first, but now I'm glad he did.
It's graphics are great until it gets to camera angles. The crowd looks real, the
players look close to the real thing, and it runs fast. It looks close to the arcade
version. The camera angle just goes left and right. It doesn't do closeups nor instant
replays. It doesn't do slow motion either. That's really all I can say on graphics.
Music and Sound: A-
There isn't much on sounds, but the theme music at the beginning sounded okay.
The crowd's cheers sounded real to me. When you hit the players, though, it doesn't
really sound good. It sounds like Beavis laughing on MTV. The dunks don't sound real
either. It sounds like a door closing. The only other sound is the announcer. He sounded
real to me.
Game Challenge: A
It depends what you set it on to how hard it is. if you set it on easy, you should not
have that much trouble getting through it. Normal is a little tougher. the first few
teams are easy, but when you get to the last teams in the game it gets tough. Like
when you get to Atlanta you usually don't beat them the first try. It always took me
at least two times to beat the last sixteen teams. If you that then it's time for the
hard level. On hard level it takes about 2 or 3 tries to beat the middle teams and at least
3 on the last 3 teams. If your a master and want the ultimate challenge then it's
time for the very hard difficulty level. On very hard the second team you face most
of the time beat you, but it will take a long time before you can pull that off.
Game Play-Fun: A
No matter if you like basketball or not, once you know the tricks you'll be wanting to
play it everyday. It's great when you have a friend playing it with you. It's really fun
when you have four players.
Sometimes it can get pretty frustrating. There are so many times where you think
you've beaten them and they shoot at the last second and make it. One of the reasons
for that is that in NBA Jam you can hit the rim from the other side of the court.
That sometimes creates a problem when your 1 or 2 points in the lead. There are also
times when you can go for the win or try for overtime and you'd go for the win but
miss the basket and lose.
To me it is worth the price to buy it, cause there are some games that cost the
same that aren't very good. I assure you that you will not be making any mistake
by buying this game.
NBA Jam may not have the looks or anything like that but you should be judging the
game by how fun it is. This game is a very fun and challenging game. Oh, I forgot to
tell you. You steal the ball by pushing your opponents down. Overall I'd give this
game an A. You won't be making a mistake by buying this game. I promise.
