Mega Man X

The Mega Man series takes a giant leap to the 16-bit systems, keeping
the classic feel of an ordinary Mega Man game, but adding many new
elements, enough to make it a separate series from the original
Mega Man series. Capcom makes this transition almost flawlessly,
as you will see why....
Graphics 9 out of 10
The graphics were excellent with very nice animation. Each movement
is done nicely, considering the mere 16 bit power it was limited to.
The larger characters such as Spark Mandrill or Flame Mammoth lack
fluid animation, but then again they are larger characters so it's kinda hard.
Music and Sound 9 out of 10
The music is awesome, and is easily the best in the series (with the
exception of Mega Man X4) , the sound effects are top notch. There really
is no complaint although they could have been more realistic.
Game Challenge 10 out of 10
This was by far one of the most challenging X games. It was very hard
for me when I first got it, but with a little practice, I began breezing
through it. In my opinion, that's how a game should be. Capcom passes
this trial with flying colors.
Game Play-Fun 9 out of 10
This game had very creative levels, and introduced Mech-suits, energy
tanks, and of course, Zero. With all of these new elements, this game
pulled you in and kept you on the edge of your seat. The hidden capsules
offered the ability to Power up X with awesome new abilities, and after
the battle with Sigma, my heart was pumping like the blazes. Truly a
Replayability 5 out of 10
This is where Mega Man X has trouble. After you've played through, there
really is no reason to play it again unless you want to see the cool ending
again. There are no multiple paths or hidden endings. Once you've played
it, you've played it.
Game Value 10 out of 10
I think they lowered the price a while back. They're selling this for only
20 dollars, so you'd have to be an idiot not to buy it.
Overall 9 out of 10
All in all, this one broke new ground for the Mega Man series, and you should
definitely buy this, even if you're not a fan of the series.
