Mortal Kombat 2
Reviewed by Michael Hartmann
Mortal Kombat 2 for game boy is a great game to buy because it is a really fun game
to play. It is a good game for beginners and experts because the controls are easy to use.
Graphics 7.5 out of 10
I would say that the graphics are pretty good. It's sometimes hard to see who you
are because Scorpion, Reptile, and Sub-Zero all have the same costume. Mileena
and Kitana have the same costume too but they make one of the two a little bit
darker. For the three Ninjas the only way to know who is who is by the moves or
if your playing a mirror match
The fatalities have surprisingly good graphics and are easy to see what's happening
because unlike Mortal Kombat 3 (for Game Boy) they have just the right amount of
detail, such as Liu Kang's fire breathing dragon.
The reason I wouldn't give the graphics something higher is because there are only
two stages (which have fairly good graphics).
Music and Sound 4 out of 10
The music is kind of lame because there are really only two different pieces of
music. The sound is so-so because a projectile attack sound is the same for mostly
everyone. The other super attacks are the same too like for example: how can Mileena's
roll make the same sound as Jax's earthquake punch? Those sounds aren't particularly
bad but I personally think the makers could have done a little bit better.
Game Challenge 8 out of 10
If you put the game on easy it's pretty hard to beat, if you put the game on medium
it is VERY hard to beat, if you put the game on hard it's pretty close to impossible
to beat. it doesn't exactly do really cheap moves/combos but it blocks and counter
attacks like crazy!
Game Play-Fun 8.5 out of 10
This game is really fun to play because the control is great. The moves are as easy
as heck to pull off and the fatalities are easy to do too because you can do the move
from any part of the screen. It's also pretty challenging because your opponent is about
as good as you are and usually don't stand around doing nothing and let you hit them.
Sometimes if you just can't beat the game with some one because they don't have any
good moves you might get a little bit ticked.
Replayability 5.5 out of 10
I think any one could enjoy the game over and over again but after a while it gets
monotonous and boring. This usually only happens when you've beaten the game
Game Value 7 out of 10
It's a great game to buy because you can play it over and over for about 2-3 months.
I would recommend it defiantly to a mortal kombat fan.
Control 10 out of 10
It has split-second response to whatever you want to do like a fatality such as
Scorpion's "Toasty" hold start(block) push Up, Up, punch and he'll walk over to you,
take his mask off, and send a fireball a the opponent. Moves are real easy like
Kitana's fan levitate B, B, B, punch and if the other person gets too close they'll
lift up for an easy attack.
Overall 8 out of 10
I would recommend this to anyone who likes fighting games. It's well worth the price
and can also support the link cable so you can play against your friends.
