Reviewed by PWolfstien Ah, the Street Fighter III series. Some people have said that this series was a waste because it's not 'fresh' as some of the 'other' popular fighters today. Well, personally, I'm sick to death of games like Marvel vs Capcom 2, that are basically just a bunch of 'looker' games with high hit combo's and they really take no talent to play, you know what I mean. I, on the other hand, love the SFIII series for the new 'parry' system. And other things that make it GOLD. Let's start shall we. Graphics: 10/10- These are the best graphics in a fighting game PERIOD. No doubt about it. The characters look amazing and so do the backrounds. All I can say is WOW! This is REALLY amazing. The visual effects in this game are top notch. Everything from the animation of Hugo's spinning powerbomb to Ryu's hadouken, it all looks great, and when I say great, I mean it. Sound: 10/10- Now this is really just *MY* opinion on music. I love the hip-hop music in this game, but I could see how some people could hate it. Oh well, I like it so there. The in-game music is very good, and it can't be dislike IMO. The sound effects are very crisp. I just gave it a ten because of one, the hip-hop music on the select screen is cool, and two because in a fighting game, music isn't THAT important, and I thought that the music was good, stages, sound effects, all great stuff. Control: 10/10- It's very easy to control. Same SF control that we've grown to love. I don't have much more to say ... I had no problems with the control at all ... it's perfect. Gameplay: 10/10- Ah, my favorite part! Well, where to start. This game has a GREAT system. When fighting you can 'parry' attacks by pressing 'forward' or 'down' on impact depending if your getting hit high or low. Forward for High, Down for low, obviously. Now, you can parry ANY ATTACK IN THE GAME! Except for throws. Now this is why this game is gold, if good enough you can make yourself to never get hurt, right? Wrong because this is why we love SF :P Because not only can you parry me, but I can then counter parry your attack off your parry! Also you REALLY have to know how to throw in this game, against a good player. Because you have to mix it up everyone in a while to keep them honest. Say I was going up to you. You have to think... Is he going to attack me? Is he going to throw me? Or is he waiting for me to attack so he can then parry my attack and counter that and crush me with a super! But if you mix up your style you'll make it a lot harder for the opponenet to guess what your going to do. I'll tell you right now. This game is hard to play, and takes a lot of practice. But I think it's the best out there once learned because of the stratagy invloved. Oh, I hope I didn't make parrying sound easy, because it's a lot harder than you think, and takes a lot of practice to master. OK, on to more gameplay features. Well, you can also super-jump. Not like in the VS. series but it's quite useful IMO. You can dash and backdash. And this game has a lot of characters. It just simple rocks. Conclusion: Out of all the great fighters out there. Classic's such as SFII, hyperfighting, Zero 2, Zero 3, KoF 97, and 98. This one tops em all. It's not for people how just want to play 'a couple of times' it takes a lot of hard work to 'enjoy' this game, due to the dificulty level. If you do learn the game, you'll have a great time. With everything SFIII3SFFTF puts out, how can you not want to put hours of your life into it? Overall: 10 out of 10
