Sega Sports Features NFL2K

NFL2K may be singularly responsible to have made the
Dreamcast a success. Never before have we seen a game, that
looks so beautiful. Sometimes, you feel like you are
watching the real thing.
Every little graphical thing is present in the game. Ball
carriers will struggle and squirm to break free of tacklers.
Recievers have many ways of hauling a long bomb in. Unlike
other football games, the ball won't be caught unless it
hits the recievers hands. The recievers stretch out and dive
and even catch passes one handed. The quarterbacks can throw
on the run perfectly. It looks realistic too. Quarterbacks
on the run will throw the ball at different angles and that
affects the flight of the ball. You can even see the ball
spinning in the air as it approaches its target. You can
even see substitutes and coaches on the sidelines.
The rest of the game is similar to most other football
games, with similar controls. All the NFL teams are present
with up to date rosters. The graphics alone make this the
best football game ever. Madden 2001 for PS2 could surpass
it though, as the playcontrol in Madden is better.
Graphics: 10.
This is what makes the game. The players all look real, and
the weather changes are clearly visible. The additions of
coaches and substitutes on the sidelines make the game feel
more real.
Sound: 9.
Good crowd noises and great effects on the field. The
commentary is decent too.
Gameplay: 8.
The controls are similar to other football games. As with
other football games, the offense is again too powerful. The
computer offers decent challenge, but is no match once you
learn the game.
Replay Value: 10.
The graphical excellence will bring you back for more.
Playing against a friend has never been better.
Overall: 9 out of 10
Maybe the best Dreamcast game. If you own one, it would be a
sin not to buy this game.
