Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beware...
...you will become addicted to this amazing game. Even better now that it is on the WII - for the aforementioned reasons (see other reviews). Great action smooth gameplay. I like Champions Road the best - when you improve your team by acquiring players from other squads.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Awesome but...
...why take away co-op (2 players on the same team)?
This has always been in every Winning Eleven game since its inception and quite frankly it's the single most disappointing thing ever to a nearly perfect game...Konami you should not have done this... *sigh*

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great soccer game for the Wii!
In spite of being a big soccer fan, I was a bit hesitant about buying a soccer game with Wii's hand held controls for a leg controlled sport. After reading great reviews about the game, I bought it a couple of days back and was very pleased with the purchase. The Wii controls are pretty fun and the training mode prepares you well. The only thing that would beat this is having an Wiimote attachment to your leg. But for now, this is great fun!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best soccer game out there. Period.
This is the best soccer game I have ever played. And I've played every game since Fifa 95.
To be honest, I was never a big fan of the pro evolution series. I tried playing a couple of them because my friend always said how great they were, but I liked fifa because it was more playable. However, I haven't played any Fifas on the Wii, but I know that no game can top this.
With this game you have absolute control. You can control almost every little detail about the game. You can draw plans for how the ball will be played in the next 15 seconds. It's just amazing what you can do with the wiimote! I've been hooked since I bought it and I'm scoring 8-9 goals in every game so I think I should move to the next difficulty level.

Just to break it down:
Pros :
-Total control over positions,passing, etc
-You can do things with the wiimote that you really can't do with normal consoles, like point where the ball will be passed
-Champions road is a fun carrier mode with a lot of depth
-Only 40 bucks!

Cons :
-Doesn't have all the teams like Fifa (This is for all PES, not just this one)
-You don't total control over where the ball is shot, you just shake the Nunchuck. I thought this was a major downfall at first, but it's not that bad and I figured out that where you were running before shooting is where you will shoot, so now I just run in that direction before shooting

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Spectacular
As others have said, this is THE best sports game for the Wii, and one of the best games there are for Wii. Simply put, all of the other sports games available for Wii haven't come close to this level of integration with the Wii's controls. PES has done that, and done it exceptionally well.

Controls are smooth and intuitive, can be learned within half an hour thanks to an extensive and helpful tutorial system, and gameplay retains all the excellent core functionality that is PES/WinningEleven. While I need not stress over the great design in controls and gameplay, I'd also like to add that the online for this game has so far been quite good for me. Almost no lag, and little difficulty in finding others to play against.

Wii Sports showed us what can be done in terms of sports games for the Wii, and while EA and other game companies failed time and time again to introduce anything other than cheap tacked on controls, Konami has gone from the ground up and built PES for the Wii, a display of gaming excellence that fits right in with the system. This game is fun, easy to learn, and ultimately very satisfying to play.
