i got this game for my gf as a birthday gift...
i dont know that it was the best choice for her...since i realize now that when she was saying over and over that we should get it...she meant that it would be good for me...
but either way...this game is great...once you get people to get over being shy...most people start out really weak...and you don't score that well even if you're hitting all the notes...but then they usually loosen up and then score a lot higher...and once everyone loosens up its fun for everyone...everyone sings along...its great...
its also great for people like me...im a big karaoke fan...and before we got this game i had a horrible time with the volume of my singing...it was always way too low...now after playing this game for a couple weeks my singing has gotten a lot better...
the next thing i plan on doing...and i urge you to do this when you buy the game...is to get another mic so that we can battle and do duets....
my only complaint about this game is that you can't (so far) download new songs...and its sometimes harder to sing the songs b/c the people who they get to sing dont sound anything like the original singers of the songs...
over all...amazing game

this game is probly one of the best games for the wii that i have. my brother really likes the rabit game but i cant remember what its called. on this game u sing a lot then u get rated by the judges. the judges are simon, paula and randy. randy always says dog and im not a dog!! im a human bean!! so im not sure why he says that a lot. u put on outfits and they are cool i guess but u cant change the faces and the noses r too big. so if u have a big nose, this game is for u!! if u don't have a big nose, u can still play this game and pretend that u have a bigger nose. if u r like me and dont care about the nose, then im sure u will have a pleasurably gaming experiance. if however u r like obsessed with very normal sized noses u should not look at the nose. i recomend putting paper on the nose section on ur tv.

I was not that impressed with American Idol for the Wii, I have been playing it at my friends house the last week on their XBox and had a blast so I ordered it for my Wii. I was quiet disappointed. the characters do not look at nice as the ones on the XBox I thought quality of graphics was comparable to the ones 10 yrs ago and there is a limit on the songs were as the XBox there are the ones that come with the game (the same as the Wii) but on the XBox there are 63 mores songs as of now that you can download to add to the fun and more get added every few weeks. While it is still fun and I play it with my kids, I prefer the one for the XBox the features are better so are the graphics and more songs can be added to the playlists. At this point I would buy an XBox just to play this game on it. over all it is still fun it is just disappointing compared to the XBox version. If you have an XBox then buy this game for that console not the Wii.

I purchased this game as a way for my family to spend interactive time togther while playing the WII. I have to say I am very glad that I did!!!Our little two year old even joins in the fun, singing and holding the mic...he's even getting the dance moves going!!!! Though we are not "singers" ~ with the exception of my hubby ~ we all have a great time together singing and laughing! I highly recommend this GAME!!!ps...DO BUY AN EXTRA MIC FOR DUETS~!!!

This game is fun at first, but grows old quickly. If you like to sing, you'll enjoy it. Song selection is scarce. Mostly for your older players. I think they could have done a better selection when deciding what songs to include. The game was fun at first, but once you ran out of songs you knew....well, it became a bit boring.
