(Game has MAJOR flaws on Wii system.) This game is fun and addicting. It has beautiful graphics and a good story. Game Concept: 5 stars; Game Play: 1 star. This game has two major flaws, thus the reason for the 1 star game play.
One: The only way to save your progress is to find a mirror pool. There is no other way to save. Unfortunately, on the way to these mirror pools when you've just gained a new skill, you tend to get attacked and often die. This results in having to replay everything you just spent 2 hours on completely over again to re-gain the skill you lost when you died. This sucks and happens often resulting in 1-2 hours of lost work. Mirror Pools usually only appear in one place per level so they can be difficult to get to.
Two: Each level of progress has a special place where you put your new skills to the test. Unfortunately, the game is extremely picky in how it interprets what you do. If you have to draw a circle around a tree, you must draw it the way the game wants you to draw it. Not every circle is accepted by the game and, in fact, 95% of attempts are rejected. I don't know if this is a Wii controller issue or something else. Anyway, it results in you being stuck in a continous loop of doing the same thing over & over & OVER again until the game decides you've paid the price and accepts your meager efforts. You can't save or exit this loop, so if you get frustrated and turn off the Wii (due to need for sleep) - BOOM! 2 hours of gameplay are lost and you have to go through the whole miserable process again.
If you're considering purchasing this game on the Wii, I suggest renting it first before you buy. This way you'll know if your tolerance level can stand these two major flaws in the game design.

Okami (either the Wii verson or the PS2) is one of the most creative wonderful games I've ever playied. I would recomend this game to just about anyone. This is one of those games that you can just keep playing and playing, even once you've beaten the game, even more fun and un-lockables open for playing.

This is one of the best looking games on the WII system today. THe controls could have been tweak little but it does not take away from the game. The levels are an eye opener to the diverse colors that make up each level.

This game was deffinately worth my time and money. The gameplay was extremely long. There were two or three points where they easily could have stopped the game but, instead, kept the story going. While there are many similarities to Zelda, this game is deffinately unique enough to stand on its own.
The only bad things I have to say are that the bosses were sometimes too easy, you were given too many hints on how to solve puzzles, and the dialog went on at times for way too long.

I'm about half-way through this game (missed it in it's original form on ps2 as I never had one) and I'd seriously have gladly paid more than $50 for the wonder, joy, and fun I've had so far in my 25 hours of play.
This is a fantastic game with art, style, controls, ideas, and goals like nothing you've ever seen before. The artwork is incredible -- like a living, breathing Japanese watercolor scroll. The action is exciting and challenging, but at the same time "wholesome" and "family-friendly" as you restore nature to a bleak landscape while befriending and feeding wildlife. It may sound pansied-down, but it's really not -- they somehow make it simultaneously challenging, exciting, wholesome, and rewarding all at the same time. It's more "extreme" than any game I've played with "extreme" in its title!
I claim that this combination has never been achieved in any game without "Mario" in the title ever in the history of video games. I may be wrong and forgetting one or two, but there can't be many that are this awesome, and certainly no others have this incredible -- almost museum-quality -- artwork.
If you have a wii (or even a ps2) buy this game no matter what the age or interests of the potential players. Everyone can play, and will love, Okami.
