I really enjoyed this episode. The writing is clever and is technically quite expensive for a weekly show. Since it was done with George Lucas' approval any complaints that he would not like it are wrong. The DVD has some material that was left out of the broadcast version and there is a digital copy available now. Sometimes Family Guy can be a bit insensitive but not so here. If you are afraid your child will be corrupted watching this I suggest you don't turn it on. You need to chill. I think they did a good job of using the Family Guy characters in the Star Wars IV movie. Certainly anyone familiar with the show will not be offended.

The Family Guy: Blue Harvest Special Edition DVD is, simply put, a great set. The episode itself is hilarious, and easily on par with the rest of the series. The features that come with it are awesome too.
In the package, you get (from left to right):
-A pack of Blue Harvest cards, which (when assembled) form a 3-D picture
-A pair of 3-D glasses to view the complete puzzle and a 3-D scene on the DVD
-A 2-disc DVD, which comes with the episode (disc 1) and a digital copy (disc 2)
-An XL T-shirt
-A booklet entitled The Art of Family Guy: Blue Harvest
Of the extra stuff, the booklet stands out as the most interesting, providing some storyboards, concept art and the likes. Seeing the way the episode sort of came into being was rather nice.
Now, my only complaint with the set (which is what stops it from being a five-star product) are the packaging of the rest of the extras. Despite the fact that they're neat, if you take them out of the package, the set gets really messed up. When you take the plastic wrapping off the cards, they don't fit in the slot anymore, and they fall out (the 3-D glasses, however, still fit nicely without their respective plastic wrapping). Obviously, if you open the T-shirt, it won't fit in the box anymore--leaving a gaping hole in the box. Now, that stuff may just be nitpicking, but it really does hinder the visual appeal of the set.
Overall, though, this Special Edition set is worth buying whether you're a fan of Family Guy, Star Wars, or are just in the mood to laugh.

I am a huge fan of Family Guy, I have to say I love this movie. I recommend buying this special edition package it comes with an XL Shirt, 3D glasses, trading cards and a nice book. I found this on sale for $10 at a store with the name Sam in it, hint hint.

Why did it take so long to do this? It is laugh-out-load funny! And I wear the special shirt all the time. I love this. I can't wait for the nest one, and yea, they are making another.

This is the best Star Wars parody I've ever seen. Even non Family Guy fans will love it. This version includes a shirt, trading cards, and 3D glasses to watch the exclusive to this version 3d fight scene. Unless you're a really serious FG fan, just get the regular edition. The cards and shirt are cool, but the 3D scene is a waste. The quality is poor, and not worth bothering with, which is why I rate it 4 stars not 5. I loved the extras like Seth McFarlane's interview with George Lucas. He would hum tunes from different parts of different Star Wars movies, and see if George knew what part the tune came from. George missed them all. Classic. Either way, this dvd is awesome!
