This is a great unit. On top of the people at the company who makes it are great, too. When I opened my unit, I failed to notice I dropped one of the adapters on the floor. My dog immediately grabbed it and chewed it to a non-functioning state. When I contacted the manufacture they sent me two more adapters right away at no charge.

If you have a PS3, a separate charger for the controllers is a necessity. This charger does the job admirably. I love the drop-in nature of it. I only wish that there was a way to design it so that it could be used vertically.

This product works well enough, no connecting cables because the controllers drop right in and I love that I can keep the controllers by the couch and not in the entertainment center for charging but...
The design is quite ugly compared to the PS3 or any other home A/V equipment one might have around. Honestly, it looks like a cheap toy. Further, as others have mentioned, the LEDs are way to bright, I don't need a pair of giant green circles on my ceiling while I watch a movie. It should have a switch to turn them off or set them much lower.
So half an hour out of the box I was modding it.
EASY LED MOD:
This will make the sides of the charger glow dimly and turn the big LEDs off. It does no damage to the product and can easily be undone.
Supplies: You will need small and smaller jewelers philips screwdrivers and a little electric tape.
1) Open the bottom, like a battery compartment, it slides forward.
2) Unplug and remove the power supply.
3) You will see five screws, remove the four that form a square, the LED box will come loose and be attached by a ribbon cable.
4) Take out the two tiny screws to release the board. You will see they use two LEDs, one for red and one for green.
5) Place electrical tape over the plastic on the top, so the LEDs will still glow faintly through the sides of the charger.
6) Assemble in reverse.
This mod makes it livable but it still looks like a toy.

This works great. MUCH better design than the previous version.
HOWEVER, these lights could land a small plane. I just used some electrical tape to cover almost all of it.
Overall, great product. It even hides the power brick so it doesn't take up any more room on a power strip

Yep, them there are some bright lights! Prety much lights up the entire corner of my entertainment center! But not so much in a horrible way, just in a way that you can definitely tell when they are charged up! Kind of like a night-light that you might have in your hallway or something.
Also, I have the rubber glove protectors on my controllers, and although they are a little snug, I can get them to fit in to the charger, no problem.
So overall, the adaptors are easy to put on, fit snuggly and securely, and are not obtrusive in any way. They charge up, and are good to go again! Not the most stylish product I've ever seen, but it works good! All in all, a great product!
