Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Headset with Minor Drawbacks
I own one of these and i think it is a fantastic accessory. The only drawback is it doesnt detect your voice if you are softspoken. I have no problem because i talk at a relatively loud volume most times anyway. Not to say that screaming into it is necessary, but the meek should shy away from this headset. However, if you want the freedom that wireless-ness brings, this is a great addition to your collection. Being able to put my controller down and run to the kitchen or restroom or do anything else for that matter without having to take off my headset is great. The range is not a far as the controller+wired headset combo, but its still very good, probably about 25 feet. The battery life is not too shabby either, clocking in at about 8 to 10 hours on a single charge. I just plug it back in when im done with it and never worry about it dying in-game. It really is a great product, this is my second, seeing as how my dog ate my first...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Verdict
Well, based on the myriad of reviews here it seems this wireless headset is very subjective. So with that said I'll try to be specific and clear about certain things because this wireless head set has a very exorbitant price that may or may not be worth it to some Xbox live members.

After owning an xbox 360 for about a year without live, I realized that what I am missing out on. Games nowadays seems to be investing less time in single player campaigns but devoting more effort into live, which i understand but at the same time not everyone can afford live...anyways you get the point. Well I bought the xbox premium set in dec 2006 that came with the regular head set. When I finally got to use it I wasn't blow away I mean it just your normal walkman head set, something you probably owned in the early 90's (pre-ipod days, brought back some memories) but at the same time the sound it is loud and clear with a convenient volume adjuster. However, the fitting on the head set wasn't that great, it seemed kind of awkward sometime, one side always seemed lopsided. But the attached microphone compensated for it considering I had no difficulties speaking or hearing people. For the most part the voices came in load and clear. On the contrary, the wires would get in the way which is inevitable, they twist they tighten, just an annoyance sometimes, no big deal. More importantly, you have to be careful where you leave it because the plastic is not the strongest, those things will crack really easily. But hey what do you expect for 16-20 bucks right? Considering microsoft loves to inflate their prices on accessories, which i don't think i need to point out the head set was serviceable at best.

However, When i finally laid my eyes on the wireless headset for the first time in a local gamestop, I have to admit, microsoft can make their accessories look presentable, sleek, stylish, with usually nice color schemes it almost was love at first sight, until I looked at the price tag...60 bucks...(ehhhhhh, not cool) but like i said wasn't too shocked. I procrastinated awhile based on the poor reviews, but the positive reviews told me to take a chance and so I did. Was it worth the 60 bucks...ehhhh not really, worth more like 40 bucks which can be bought at those wholesale clubs. If you live around any of those stores deff. check them out first. At any rate, the wireless head set charges for a bogus 6 HRS!!!! I know INSANE, I mean I can charge my cell phone like 4 cycles and the wireless head set would still be charging. SO, that a deff. NEGATIVE, well after waiting an eternity It completed with the four lights blinking simultaneously, the set comes with two different adjustable ear loops to fit your ear. Now I noticed some people either hated the fitting because it hurt them or it was just plain uncomfortable, this seemed to be one of the more common negatives in this department. Personally, I though the wireless head set was extremely comfortable, the initial ear loop suited quite well. the ironic thing is that the wired head set actually hurt my ear which throbbed after a couple of hours of play. So that department is really in limbo boiling down to the size of your ear. Next, Syncing.....Here people also had problems too, either it didn't sync at all or it became disrupted more frequently than desired. With the click of the power button and the sync button on the console I can't say I had any problems. The console picked up the signal immediately, I popped in Call of Duty 4 to chat in the lobby room and i must say people heard me just fine (for the most part) and without the "Sensitive feedback" that everyone has been complaining about. If anything it was just the opposite, i felt i had to raise my voice some times. The wires headset seemed more sensitive. I didn't experience any bad feedback considering My room is really small and i have a decent 32" inch LCD with loud speakers and there was no problems in that department. Next, playing issues....while playing so far the wireless head set did not go in and out of sync, it stayed with me and even in different rooms of my house which i was impressed with. They say 30ft reception, which sounds about right, i tested its boundaries. I was able to go to the bathroom which is about 10 -12 ft away, no problems. no static no syncing problems even at that distance so your in the clear. The volume set is nice with two nicely placed buttons surrounding the power button, and the size is not that bad either. I see alot of people thought the size was over bearing, but i really didn't think so, But I think those people use blue tooth alot so I guess that explains it. My wireless head set came with a chargeable USB port which is key and i think mandatory considering you need to charge it for 6 Hrs. Because in the manuel they say use the console, WHat ARe you nuts!!! I don't think the xbox 360 can handle 6 hrs straight without getting the red ring of death right? (which i already experienced) At any rate, I am a wireless type of guy, and wireless should be the way to go just not at 60 bucks....but if found cheaper preferably in the 40-45 dollar range deff. worth the money. It really depends what your preferences are...oh yeah to clarify some rumors, the xbox 360 word on the street is that the Halo 2 limited edition wireless head sets are better because they are more updated and worked out the supposed "bugs", well thats not true, all the wireless head sets that come with the USB port are all the same, I had a couple of EB Game stop employees clarify this for me.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Dissapointed that I didn't know better.
I was unhappy about this particular product. I purchased this product for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. I spent at least an hour pouring over reviews to hopefully be buying something I thought that he would like. And I can't say that people are not supposed to like it for the benefit of me knowing that my boyfriend was not going to like it. However my boyfriend has heard nothing but bad things from his gaming friends who have had to revert to the ancient Garth Brooks style headset because of all sorts of issues they have had with their wireless. We never opened it and tried it so we have no personal experience with it. However I wanted to exchange it for something else that my boyfriend would use and not just something that was going to end up amongst a pile of stuff that never gets used.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Works Fine For Me
I've had my 360 since Christmas 2007 and just went Live earlier this week. My corded headset crapped out the FIRST time I used it so I went out and bought this wireless unit.

The unit I purchased is one of the newer models that come with the USB charger. Not a bad feature, but I'd prefer an AC charger. Charge time is pretty slow, taking up to 6 hours for a complete charge. Fortunately I tend to play at night so if my headset dies, I just plug it in before I go to bed and it's ready to go when I get up.

The sound quality is pretty good. I hear everyone clearly and have had no complaints from other players about me sounding strange or about static over the connection. I would like to see future models add a quick mute function. I liked that feature in the wired headset. :)

My other little complaint is that the earpiece(s) don't fit my ears well. This could be user error, or it may be because my ears are a bit larger than average. The unit never seems to fit securely, but has yet to fall off so can I really dock it points?

All in all, despite a couple small complaints, this headset does what it sets out to do; give gamers the ability to communicate with others clearly, without the hastles of being wired to the controler. I would recommend this to any 360 Live users.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Works as intended.
This product works great. I have one myself and this is as a gift. I actually purchased 2 more as gifts. They work exactly as described and it's a pure joy to have a complete wireless setup.

If you are tired of your wired mic's breaking constantly and are looking for superior headset anyways this is a no brainer.

Sometimes they can go out of sync, but it auto syncs back up after literally 1-2 seconds. This might happen once an hour.
