Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Fun For the Casual Gamer, Easy For the Experienced
My wife and I both played through this game simultaneously and we both enjoyed it.

First off, this is an easy game. My wife, who has never finished a game before was able to play through this game with only a little help from me. Also, anyone who has finished any other Super Mario platform (eg Super Mario 1-3, or Super Mario World) will be able to complete this game with ease. This game is geared towards people who are interested in trying out video games but don't want to invest the time it takes to master a 12 button controller, however there are some optional side missions that will put up a good challenge for those willing to look for them. There are also a lot of side missions you can play if you get tired of the main story. One cool feature of this game is that once you beat it you have the option to continue playing the game to find all the side quests you missed and some new side quests open up.

For the most part this game plays as a simplified 2D platforming game that throws in a 3D elements to make things interesting.

I felt the story was a little too bland for my tastes. However the story does server its purpose, which is to tie all the different levels together. The story doesn't take itself very seriously and throws out quite a bit of random humor. I would probably peg most of the humor at a 3rd grade level which made me smirk once in a while but for the most part made me roll my eyes. Lots of really bad 'mustache' jokes.

For me the game is enjoyable enough to play through once but my wife wants to start up a new game to try and beat the whole thing herself. So if you are an above average gamer this game probably isn't for you (unless you want to play some of the classic SMB levels in 3D for nostalgia). However if you like casual games that don't pose too much of a challenge then this will be a fun game for you.

So I give it 3 stars.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another amazing Paper Mario game!
I LOVE this game. My only complaint is, like some others, I do think it is a bit easy. The humor that is so prevalent in the past Paper Mario games is back this time around as well. There are a few minor RPG elements (meaning that you can upgrade your characters) but this is definitely an action game. My 10 year old daughter loved the game as well. Every Wii owner should have Super Paper Mario! Galaxies can't come soon enough!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great game
This is a great game. A bit different from the old school mario in that its more like an RPG in that mario has hitpoints, attack power, and defense power. The beginning is kind of slow but its still alot of fun. If you're a mario bros. fan definitely need to give this game a go.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Super Paper Mario...It's loads of paper fun!
My wife bought this game for me, because I love the RPG Mario games. Paper Mario, Paper Mario the Thousand Year door, and even Mario RPG. So I sat down and started playing this game, and quickly realized that it is more like the old mario games. No RPG involved. It was a little dissapointing, but the game is fun. There are a ton of levels, and the story is ok, I enjoyed being able to switch to Bowser and Peach as playable characters. I recommend this game to anyone who loves mario games. If you liked the RPG feel of the other Paper Mario's I do not recommend this game. Good game, worth a rent and maybe even a buy if you like it.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Too much BLAH BLAH BLAH
I bought the wii and paper mario because I was craving a little old school 2D mario action. I think this game is pretty satisfying once you get going and I enjoy it, but I dread all the stupid blathering. The dialog might be ok if it were sort but it isn't even that. It just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on with inane stupid conversations that consist of nothing better than "I'm better than you!" "Nuh uh!" "Yeah huh!" "Nuh uh!" And if, for example you don't beat the villain at the end of the level you have to scroll through the entire stupid conversation AGAIN! Horrible, just horrible.

I was babysitting a tween recently and they didn't even stick with the game for more than 5 minutes because they said there was too much reading and not enough playing.

Ugh. I want to play not read!
