we purchased this for my son as a gift for his ranking #1 in his Freshman class of 594 students. So this was at the top of his list. He loves this game and plays all the time. I do not play, but I do know that he is thoroughly enjoying every wasted moment in front of that xbox360!

My favorite thing about the Burnout games has always been Crash Mode. It was fun to play and quite the stress reliever and had become a party game at my house. It was a blast to see who could create the most carnage and it was easy to pick up and play. When I first bought Burnout Paradise, I was immediately upset that Crash Mode was gone. I was going to sell it and call it a failure, but I kept playing around with it and found out that it is really a fun game. The open world play is fun and exploring is a great time waster. I've found myself driving around looking for signs to smash and ramps that I've never noticed before. Online play is a blast because you can complete challenges with other players and it really adds to the gameplay. There are still races and takedown challenges and they have added a stunt challenge, but for all these great things, it still doesn't excuse them getting rid of Crash Mode. The Showdown Mode they replaced it with, while entertaining, just doesn't hold up and is quite silly. Bouncing the car around and around trying to hit other vehicles just isn't as fun as Crash Mode. It actually took strategy to complete crashes on the old games, but showtime just requires you to look for buses to get multipliers and bounce around and around on the street like some big metal fish out of water. Overall, I would still say this game is worth buying and you will get hours of entertainment out of it, but I hope they bring back Crash Mode for future releases to take this from a good game to an awesome game.

Beautiful Graphics..nice, open ended city to burn through and explore..the crash engine is Excellent...the cars handle very well..and the game is just FUN to pick up and play, period.
the only downfalls i can think of, which really arent downfalls at all, are the variety of the cars..which seems to be limited to only Racers...but theres 75 of them...so your sure to find a car that youll love to race with regardless. also, some of the cross-city races that travel into the Country area seem to be a bit LONG and boring...and you have to drive BACK to the city after you finish those races, which is annoying..but saving and reloading the game after the race will put you back into the city...so thats not really a problem now is it :l
one of the best, if not the best, racing game out. this is what Burnout: Revenge SHOULD have been...rent it first though..
iLL .
