Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A GOOD IDEA,TO DO THIS
When i first started taking an interest in Metal Gear games,it was about the stealth i wanted,i am bored of running around in games to kill-kil-(plant a bomb,say)-kill-kill again. No i`m not saying those are rubbish games,i own a PlaySation 2,A GameCube and an old still working Nintendo 64,i have them all for one screen, and i still play N64`s BEST game,007 GoldenEye,i mean that was a game PlaySation 1 could ever beat, they tried 007 TWINE,and the now famous MOH first game,Medal Of Honor 1,yet MOH1 never beat 007 GoldenEye but clashed with it,and has been dubbed "the closest thing PlayStation(one) will ever get to N64`s 007 GoldenEye" but MOH1 was not PlayStation(one) best game,it was really Metal Gear Solid, the first 3D stealth game, and to me 007 GoldenEye and Metal Gear Solid are the top two games at 95.5% good level, and they are different genre`s but they are very close,in fact they were both SPY games, remember?! Solid Snake(Metal Gear Solid series, hero) is an American PHILANTHROPY agent who ssneaks past the guards, secretly takes photographs of a dangerous, usually nuclear weapon called Metal Gear, which is a bipedal tank-that looks like a man controlled robot dinosaur, but usually differ from each other here are all the Metal Gear tanks in the MG series,i know of in game oreder.

Metal Gear:TX-55(Metal Gear)
Metal Gear:D(Metal Gear 2:Solid Snake)
Metal Gear:REX(Metal Gear Solid/Metal Gear Solid:The Twin Snakes)
Metal Gear:RAY(Metal Gear Solid 2)
Metal Gear:ARSENAL,aka:ARSENAL Gear(Metal Gear Solid 2)
Metal Gear:SHAGOHOD,aka SHAGOHOD(Metal Gear Solid 3)
Metal Gear:?(whatever the MG will be in Metal Gear Solid 4)

Thats alot of MG tanks,The only one there Solid Snake does not fight,is Metal Gear:SHAGOHOD,as it was in operation 8 years before he was born(well he is half clone,as well) but his father,Naked Snake(later known as,Big Boss) eliminated SHAGOHOD in the Cold War,of 1964.

In GoldenEye we see,British MI-6 agent,James Bond, try to eliminate USSR made nuclear satalite,Goldeneye before it destroys the world, very much the threat of a Metal Gear bipedal tank, and James Bond also has to destroy criminal-terrorist group JANUS,yeah again, like FOXHOUND in MGS. Bonds` best friend, and M-I6 ally,006 Alec Travelyan betrays Bond to form JANUS and share control of Goldeneye, heres another similarity in both ghames, you fight RUSSIAN soldiers.
So MGS and 007 GE are,and will always be the best of there generation,1st gen. 3D gaming(the consoles in it are PlayStation,Nintendo 64 and DreamCast).(in my opinion)

Metal Gear Solid:The Twin Snakes is the recreation of that very game,Metal Gear Solid, same gamplay, same enemies, same allies but three differences,in GC remake the graphics and sounds are updated,The Ninja has a different voice this time, and some thing else i will mention.
When MGS2 came out people complained that MGS2 did not surpass the original one,So Nintendo asked Konami to put a MGS game on,GameCube, and Hideo Kojima(the Metal Gear games creator) agreed but he decided to recreate their best MGS game,Metal Gear Solid onto GC they did,and here we are with MGS:TTS.

There is something people loved about MGS2,it GamePlay and graphics style, and loved MGS1 Story and charicters, and so Kojima colides all this, and what does he get the second best of all Metal Gear games yet,Metal Gear Solid:The Twin Snakes, that is second as its behind Metal Gear Solid 3:Snake Eater, which is admitidly better, better gameplay, better graphics and we have one man who beats both Solid Sanke and Jack,S.Snakes` father Nakid Sanke, harsher attitudes, looks cooler, and is a very brutal minded soldier.
bye.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - good but flawed...
i dont have a problem with the gameplay... its the storyline dialogue that has been hacked up and words changed to "dumb it down" or over explain different aspects of the story developement. it felt like the script was given to bad actors. in the original, i felt that the story was delivered near flawlessly. it feels cheezy in this remake but nevertheless the gameplay, the reason we all buy the game, clearly shines forth and has truly improved over its predecessor and is worth the buy. but don't expect to be engaged in the story the same way you were on the playstation.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Why dont they make this whole game into a movie
okay this game was awsome evan thoght its just grapchis from MGS2 i dont see why Konmai wood not want to make this a movie. i mean cmon Peter Jaskson Is Dircting the Halo Movie. and Metal Gear has been around since The NES. i mean this would be awsome a movie just find the right actors it would be awsome just take everything from the game and make it 2 movies long the only reason i rate this a 4 becasue the choking was diffcult in this

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - An interesting story, but the execution is a little flawed
Metal Gear Solid: the Twin Snakes is mostly a story-driven game. That would explain the fact that there are several hours of cutscenes, and they sometimes seem to drag on endlessly. You can skip them, though, so if you aren't very patient, you don't have to sit through them. There is humor, tragedy, romance, and action all rolled into one little package. Plus many twists in the plot. It seems like almost every cutscene, there's someone dying or betraying someone else or revealing a secret about him/herself. I was pulled into the story soon after I started playing. I felt bad for almost all of the bosses I killed, because they told their stories before they died and it turned out that they've had pretty tragic lives. At times, the characters repeat themselves too much or they monologue for too long, but mostly, its a well-written story with good voice-acting. The voice-acting went very smoothly, with few lines or voices that are completely idiotic. Which is an accomplishment, since most other games have major problems with that. Sometimes, though, the action in the cutscenes seems quite unrealistic. For example, when Solid Snake, the main character, sees a metal bar flying at him from an explosion, he doesn't just dodge it like a normal person. He leaps five feet into the air and throws a grenade at the pesky hunk of steel. There are a lot of crazy stunts like that in the game, but whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is a matter of opinion. Its not nearly as well done as the Matrix, but if you like over-the-top action, this might be for you.

Something that impressed me was the uniqueness and variety of some of the boss battles. *Spoiler ahead* One boss has psychic powers, and he demonstrates them by reading some of the games on your memory card and making your controller move. During the fight, he could read your every move through your controller, so you have to put the controller into another port to block his telepathy. I've never seen that one before. *Spoiler ended* The other battles make you use strategy, too, which keeps it interesting.

Movement isn't quite as smooth as I would have liked. You might run into things or turn in the wrong direction. Another problem I had was that when you walk towards a wall, you automatically put your back to it. This could be a problem when you need to face something on the wall, like a switch, and you keep turning around. But mostly, the gameplay is alright, even fun at times. You can collect a variety of weapons, from a stun grenade to a missile launcher. You can even pick up adult magazines and place them on the ground to distract enemies. And the controls are fairly easy to figure out. The gameplay is pretty good, with just the few flaws.

For the remake of the original Metal Gear Solid, the graphics would obviously be improved. It looks good, with nice weather effects and facial expressions. It's not the best looking GameCube game out now, but it beats the old graphics. And as I stated before, the voice-acting is quite good. The music matches the situation well and the sounds match what they represent.

I really liked this game and I plan to try Metal Gear Solid 2 next. There isn't much replay value, so maybe you should rent the game, then see if you want to buy. But, since it's under twenty dollars, it would be worth it to just buy it. I finished the game in nine hours, so its on the short side, but I enjoyed almost every minute of it.
