Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Memory Lane Has Had Some Renovations...
Man, what a sweet game. Sure, I beat the pants off of MGS back in the day, but I bought this game back on its release date, beat it that night, and have beaten it several times since. I can't get enough of the first MGS!

Ryuhei Kitamura has done an excellent job with the cinemas (sure, they're a little unrealistic, but then again, videogames are a form of escapism and the demos are fun to watch). The gameplay has been reworked (but thankfully untouched in the parts that count. Except for the Ocelot fight. Waaay to easy now).

And the voice acting is top-notch. Forget what everyone else says: Naomi's british accent sounded VERY fake in the original, the ninja sounded too much like the DARPA chief (mostly because they used the same voice-actor for both characters), and Mei Ling no longer sounds like an embarrassing stereotype (why does her new voice bother so many people? She was raised in the U.S.! Why would her accent be that thick!?).

So go out and buy this game. Only the most jaded of gamers will dislike it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - MGS 1+MGS 2=AWSOME
I never really played the old metal gear solid game buy i recently purchased Sons of Liberty for PS2. And boy was it great. So I saw a commercial for Twin Snakes and i thought "What the Heck..It looks good. So I bought it. IT BLEW MY MIND. AWSOME STORY. GREAT HAND TO HAND COMBAT, FUN FIRST PERSON. SIMPLY AMAZING.That pretty much dercribes it

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Old stuff with new stuff
Not a bad combination.
Pros:
Excellent graphics
The good ol story from Meta Gear Solid, and the Graphics and gameplay from Metal Gear Solid 2 SOL
Some boss battles are easier from the PSX version, like Sniper Wolf
For Nentendo fans who waited for Snake to return to Nentendo, it couldn't have came in a better way
Cons:
Longer cinamatics, which I really don't care for
The voice acting is not as good as the PSX version
The Gun sound effects are not as good as the PSX version
the music is not as good as the PSX version
nothing added on to the game

Well despite the cons, this game in so many ways is a crazy revamping of the PSX version. I just wish it sounded the same. Those who have a gamecube, and never played Metal Gear Solid should definitly play this eye candy revamped version. To those who have played Metal Gear Solid, as long as your not expecting alot of new stuff, this is a nice buy.

peace

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
This game is awsome and is easily the best stealth game. (Pac-Man sucks snake.) It has good graphics and cool cinematics. I like the movie where the ninja kills everyone. It has an interesting plot that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's fun to Sneak in it because the gaurds have fun AI so its fun to manipulate them. I like this game.(...) Bukake Power!!!!!(...)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Oh gooness me
This game rocks, that is all there is to it. The graphics are A+, the sound and voices are great, the plot is fantastic, and the action and suspense throughout the game keeps you on your toes. Certaintly not a remake of the original, more of an expansion. A huge expansion. Although the game overall is fantastic, there were a few setbacks I did not enjoy. The most prominant is the constant backtracking. Oftentimes I would find myself going all the way back to a certain area, just to find out upon further invenstigation and instruction from Otocon or Naomi that I was supposed to be back where I just was. The game is to unclear at points to have backtracking be such a large part of the game. Also, the replay value is a little less than what it should be. I have beaten it on very easy, easy and normal, and have started on hard. It's just there are not enough new things in it to keep you very interested. The first time around is great because the plot is amazing and keeps you in the game, you can't wait to see what happens next. The second time it's just a good game and you want to relive it. The third time it's just for fun. I'm sorry, but breaking the Genome Soldiers necks is just such great fun. I love it. So, overall, 4 stars. It's a great game, but it could do more on the replay factor. The cutscenes alone are worth the money. The ones with the Ninja are awesome. And the boss battles are amazing, you actually have to think (imagine that!) to get past them. You can't just shoot at them like in most games. The stealth and thinking that is required in most of the game is what pulls it all together. So, keep in mind, if you get annoyed easily and don't like waiting, this game may not be your cup of tea. I'm just rambling now, but if you want a game that is worth the time, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is recommended.
