I always keep hearing from so many for Nintendo Gamecube owners about how they have made it through the way to the top when it comes to making their marks in defeating some of the most outrageous video games out there. Thanks to the people at Datel, they have found a way to help all Gamecube owners make their mark as video game status #1. The Action Replay for the Nintendo Gamecube is a very simple code enhancer that can help you make and break records with all sorts of great codes for video games like Super Mario Sunshine, Need For Speed Underground, Madden '06, and so much more. While not every game isn't listed, you can head on to the website codejunkies.com, and unlock codes for great games that aren't on the enhancers' menu, and simply load them up on the main screen. The device is very simple to operate, but the codes manually can take awhile to enter with your controller. Nevertheless, it is worth the effort. It is very inexpensive, and can be very helpful for any gamer of any age who owns a Nintendo Gamecube.

For some reason my Action Replay card got corrupted and now I can't save data to it anymore, where before I could. I'm pretty sure it still works with the disc, but as a memory card it's crap. Now I know what people are talking about when they complain about third party memory cards being pieces of junk.

I've Tried The CD on my Game Cube & It's almost like a Game Shake, Game Genie or any other cheating devices out thier plus it comes with its own memory card so you can load & save any codes you find on thier web site. Plus, You can use any memory card to store your codes on as long as it's in Slot B. the only promblem with it is that you can't change the Codes to make them better unlike Game Shark Or Game Genie If they made one For The GC. Other than that it's an ok cheating device. I give 3 to 4.5 stars For it's cheating abilities & 0 to 2 stars for its non-ability to modify existing codes.

I must admit that I haven't used the cheating features of this disc that much. Somehow being all powerful in a game seems to lessen the excitement.
An extremely useful feature of the action replay is the built in Freeloader. Normally, US games cannot be played on UK gamecubes and vice versa. The freeloader unlocks the cube's security so that games from any region can be played on the US cube. Simply select the freeloader option and select the region that the game has come from.
I moved from the UK to the states and thanks to the freeloader I can still play all of my UK games on my new US cube. I know that US gamers don't really need to import European games but for me this disc keeps me playing all me UK games.

GameCubes with model DOL-101 or newer (since November 2004; no digital out) WILL NOT WORK with the AR out of the box. After I complained to Datel that the GameCube said it couldn't read the disc they responded to me telling me to look at there FAQ site ([...], where they added an entry (it was NOT there when I looked earlier) to the top explaining that if you send in the disc they'll mail you a new one with an upgrade. They say that this is the ONLY way to get the upgraded disc. My concern was that it didn't work once, and by the time a replacement would get to me I'd be out of time for a return if it didn't work again. I emailed them again (the way they instruct you to) voicing this concern and they did not email me back (it's been a week). I returned the AR for a refund rather than risk sending it to Datel and I will not purchase an AR again unless I get the upgraded disc WITH my initial purchase. I advise others to do the same. Caveat emptor!
