Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Game
This game has such addictive gameplay. I could play this game all day. The story mode is terrific with an engrossing storyline and such fun gameplay, and the multiplayer gameplay is just intoxicating. Rare has made the best FPS. If you've played Goldeneye, get this. Or if you just like having fun shooting aliens and you're friends, this is also a great choice.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Campaign sucks, but the multiplayer is fun
You know, I'm not to big on first-person shooters, and games like Time Splitters 2 are probably why. The first thing that I noticed is that this game played exactly like GoldenEye 007. Sure it (007) is a good game, but come on, was the rip-off really necessary? From the health system, to the aiming, they're very much alike. So if you're looking for an innovative challange, you won't be getting it here. Anyway, here are just a few things that I felt this game could have improved on. First, there is no recticle, only for aiming, and it gets annoying being in the aiming mode, having to hold L, or press down L (depending to you're settings). I even find it a little harder having to aim since you feel some resistance. And when you're not aiming, being accurate is hard if you don't know how the weapons shoot. Sometimes when I'm trying to shoot an enemey, I'll shoot at nothing for about three seconds before I get a "feeling" for the gun. This is very counter-intuitive. Another thing is the fact that you can't jump at all. It really pisses me off that you're still glued to the ground on these modern games. War games I can understand (even then jumping could be very beneficial and realistic), but in sci-fi futuristic games like this one, the characters should be capable of jumping. Speaking of characters, they're somewhat lame in design, but nothing too rediculous. As for weapons, they are various and abundant. This makes the shoot outs less boring and more diverse. Also, the objectives for the single player campaign are somewhat hard to figure out and not very fun to do. It took me more 20 minutes just to complete the first mission. After that I just gave up on it.

The multiplayer, or arcade as they call it, is where the game shines, and probably what it was mainly meant for. I wasn't able to explore it all, but what I did experiece, I liked very much. The good thing is that there are bots. I don't know why more games don't utilize a this feature. I mean, the AI is very weak, but it's still fun to put it on frantic, have nothing but rockets, have as many characters as possible and just blow each other away. If you have a lot a friends, it's very good for parties. There are many different modes, characters, maps, and whatever I forgot to mention. The arcade league is also great because it challanges you with minigames that aren't necessarrily hard, just somewhat frustrating. By playing this and successfuly getting the higher tier trophies, you'll get new character, maps and modes. Some of them are very fun too.

Other things like graphics and music aren't too impressive and thus not worth mentioning. So that pretty much covers it. If you plan to get this, buying it wouldn't be a bad way of doing so, seeing as how it cost so little. I wouldn't really recommend this for someone who is looking for a very immersive gameplay, but it still has its moments.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - If you miss goldeneye get this game
I'll be honest. I bought this game for the cheap price and the fact that I needed something to play on my GC while I change my PC's DVD drive. Being a PC gamer, I hadn't played 1 FPS on my GC since I bought it. In fact, the only console FPS since goldeneye I had played more than an hour was halo, halo 2 and the metroid prime hunters demo. Since I'm not buying an XBOX any time soon I decided to give this a try.

First of all, the gameplay is a picture perfect copy of goldeneye. That's both good and bad. Perfect if you gave away your N64 and loved that game. The graphics show their age, especially the level design, but everything is clean and there isn't a jaggy in sight. The GC hardware also manages to display some larger than life bosses in the single player mode. Everything plays smooth as butter. The music is adequate, awesome in some levels, boring in others, the sound effects show their age but there are a lot of voiceovers.

I haven't tried multiplayer becuase everyone is playing halo 2 now. But the singleplayer is great. The story seems like that Quantum leap show mixed with the mission impossible show. And the levels are very different. The first one seems straight out of goldeneye. The second one seems straight out of the untouchables and the third one seems like a Sherlock Holmes movie. It really fits the time traveling storyline and is fun to play.

Definitely recommended if you liked Goldeneye, but it doesn't match up well with Halo or Metroid Prime. I hope they release the next installment on the GC as well.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best freekin gamecube game ever!
Man, this game blew me away! Reminds me of Goldeneye 007, but on steroids! Great graphics, killer levels, highly recommended on PS2, XBOX, or Gamecube.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Ridiculous
I bought this game on my brother's recommendation for under $20, that should be a hint in and of itself (Sam's Club had it for under $13) and was fine with it until I started playing the story line solo on hard. I went through the first 6 levels without too much trouble but then I hit a brick wall on Atom Smasher. Until then I was enjoying this game like I enjoyed Golden Eye. I managed to go through all of Golden Eye's levels on difficult without a game shark or any cheat codes. But this game goes beyond hard and into the flat out malicious. On Atom Smasher you are time limited because you must deactivate bombs. So, of course this would be the level where doors take 8 seconds to open, and scientist flat out won't deactivate bombs if they've heard any form of gun shot from a bad guy without waiting 5 or 6 seconds while (precious time ticks away). Also, you can be killed in 3 shots, yet, you must take out an incredible number of guards who can take up to 4 shots for the yellows and 6 for the blacks. Some of the yellows are guaranteed a shot because they have sniper riffles and a majority of those shots will be in the head. In some cases scientists must travel 20 or so seconds to get to the bomb to deactivate it wasting more time. And my favorite is the bomb that you must pick up with a magnet and drop into a whole. You can hover the magnet over the bomb and hold down the right trigger as told and it won't pick up the bomb. When it decides to pick up the bomb is beyond me. On the whole I play games for enjoyment. Having some **s****s make a game that incorporates a lot of malicious in your face grief is a huge turn off. So, unless mastering Golden Eye on difficult as well as the first 6 levels of this game is no achievement, this game is nothing but grief. Also, there seem to be only 10 levels, wow, they put a lot of time into this one. I guess in short, if you are the type of person that isn't compelled to beat every aspect of the game you buy you will probably enjoy the easy and normal levels on this game, however, if you want to go through this game on hard, and aren't any better than me, you will hate this game. Honestly, the hard levels in this game were (in my opinion) based on skill and luck; I mean think about it, I was dead in 3 hits and I had no chance at body armor while fighting more than 1 person at a time. The algorithms are so poor, guards that aren't looking at you will be shooting you. I've been shot through brick walls many times. Also, this game suffers from the I can see it through the scope but keep hitting the wall syndrom as well. Unless you are holding the rifle in very odd fashion, I don't see how that is possible, I mean barrels do have to be straight, don't they? Oh and one other thing, this game offers challenge mode which can be quite sick, run away from the monkeys that are on fire for at least 2 minutes?!?! What the heck is that? Decapitate the circus zombies that are on fire while remaining in a narrow zone and if they get close to you they catch you on fire.
