The cable does work as intended, but it's too short, unless you're sitting head-to-head or side-by-side, I hope 3rd parties make a longer one...

I've been playing Nintendo since Nintendo was Nintendo. Scary that you ask most game buyers and they have never played the original Mario Bros. for Atari 2600... but back to the point: I've seen a lot of third party devices for various Nintendo systems, and no matter what it is, it is nowhere near as reliable as the Official Nintendo device.

Even though i gave it a 5 fun rating it's not to fun. But the pourpose of it is to connect gameboys so you can plat multiplayer. And Multiplayer hets a 10 in fun.
Nintendo. This thing will last you buy 3 and you will never have to buy a cable again. If you have one you can do 2 player. If you have 2 you can play 3 player. And if you have 3 you can play 4 player. In the future though, they might make games with more than 4 players able to play.

First the bad news:
If you are buying a cable, and you want to use some of the old Gameboy games (like Pokemon), you must get the old-style cable. This cable will not work properly on some of the old games.
The cable is directional. There's a small end and a fat end; apparently it matters who has the small end plugged in. It's not really that big of a deal (it's second nature once you get used to it), but if you don't read that little detail you might think your cable is broken.
The rest is good: Multiplay on the GBA is great. With a link cable, there are many games that only require a single cartridge for everyone connected to play.
The cable is pretty sturdy, and seems a little longer than the old gameboy cable.
