Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - D 2,not a game: an interactive experance!
First I must say if your considering buying this game, drop all expectations. It's unlike anything I've ever played. This is definately an adult game. The graphics are excellant, the storyline is supurb, and unless you have 72 straight hours to devote to this game, you'll find it very difficult to put down. This is a four disc game. Alot of the disc space is devoted to mini movies which tell the story as you progress through the game. The voice overs are on a par with cinema, and the gripping realism kept me enveloped throughout the game. The graphics consist of cg, and real video images, which really bind the whole story together. The game is played through first and third person perspective. Ultimately this game has a truley inspiring theme, and an ending worth playing four discs to reach. This game could have been a motion picture!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Best Game!!!!
This game is not what I expected, an I mean this in a good way.I really enjoyed this game. The storyline is superb. The graphics are great! I found myself playing late at night. I couldn't put the game down! The Movies in the game are what surprised me most of all some were heart melting, Scary, Sad, and funny, but all were Awesome. The ending was worth the 4-disc wait! To all Resident Evil fans (like me) I would buy/rent this game. At least take a try at it. If you buy it its worth the money. The only thing that I would con about is that when you return to a spot were you had just killed a monster, they come back, no matter where you are or, how many times you return! Overall I think this is the prefect Dreamcast game!

I personally did not like D2. My reason is this. Having played and enjoyed Resident Evil, I have a certain benchmark for Survival Horror games. This game just didn't reach my high expectations.

You will immediatly find that your part in the game is more as a bystander than as a actual participant. When exploring a room, one zooms in on objects rather than approaches them. You never actually move about the area. When you are outside, this is different but running from area to area just leads to battles.

And that is one of the other problems I had with this game. Battles consist of you firing a gun at a achargiing enemy and hoping you stop them before they hit you. You can't move, dodge or run away. That makes for repetitive combat.

The movies are good and all but they are very long and they make a large protion of the game. To tell the truth, I bouth this game because it was Mature and I wanted to know why. After an hour of play, I could have cared less. Buy Resident Evil anything instead.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Dreamcast's most stylish iteration of survival horror...
D2 is more than a simple game, and where Kenji Eno partly failed in his previous attempts at the genre, in the original D (3DO, Saturn & Playstation) and its pseudo-sequel Enemy Zero (Saturn), he makes up for it in D2. While some may try to classify this as a survival horror game, D2, like D & EO, is really an old-school point and click graphic adventure, only in this case held together by random, RPG-like battle encounters, which handle like a first-person shooter. The story this time around again follows WARP's heroine, Laura, only this time she is one of the few survivors of a plane crash deep in the frozen tundra. Once again, she must foil the evil that has befallen her, an ancient demon of sorts that is being awoke for the earth's demise.

I'm not going to even try to get into the story, which explains the multi-GD length of the game, because suffice to say, it's weird (any veteran of Eno's games will know this). The graphic adventure portion of the game is handled in the usual D style, while the action sequences are brief enough not to grate too much, despite their repetitive nature. The voice acting is good enough I suppose, with no one character really getting on my nerves. This is a good one if you have the time...
