Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - DUMB BUT FUN
This game is really fun but you can't do it all in 1 day. Or even a week. Even after you get all the characters you are still only 17% through. I was told by a friend that you can use Lanky's long arms to reach a portal through the wooden guy without paying. We tried it but it didn't work. When I tried it alone I rapidly hit B and it worked. It's a really cool shortcut so you don't have to get Golden Bananas anymore. All you need is regular bananas, coins, equipment, and beat the bosses. It's so cool. It's just like cutting out the middle monkey. :) Hee Hee Hee.
Well that's your code for the day, I'm done. Good-bye Now

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Diddy Kong
I own this game.I got over 100 Golden bananas.Still I can't
win the whole game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - D.K. is back!
This was my first N64 game ever. I love the intro rap song it cracks my up whenever I listen to it. D.K. is pretty strong but when you meet Chunky you won't think so anymore. The game srarts out with five birds flying towards D.K. island boy that place looks fun. Then you see King K.rool's moving island coming straight for D.K. island. Then it shows those crazy Kremlings
trying to control the moving island but they are not having much luck. Needless to say K.rool yells for his captins telling them to steal D.K.'s Golden Bannanas plus they have already kiddnapped Diddy, Tiny, Lankey, and Chunky. Well let's get to the quest. You have to get the Spells and Potions from Cranky, the Guns and Ammobelts from Funky and the Musical instruments from Candy. This is a Pretty long game not one like Spiderman 64 which you can beat in about an hour and a half. My favorite kong is Diddy he is so good he stars in his own game Diddy Kong Racing 64 which I love. I haven't seen or heard anything about a D.K. game for Gamecube yet but I'm sure they will make one someday. This Game resembles Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, and Gex enter the Gecko. This game is funny and jammed full of action/adventure. This is one my favorites. I have only beat it once but I still play multiplayer with my sisters. I recently started a new file but I haven't beat it. The two top levels are Fungi Forest and Crystal Caves. This game is rated E for everyone and some people say it's for younger gamers but my Dad plays it so give it try. PLEASE?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Rare out does themselves with this work of art
This game is, in simplistic terms, WONDERFULL. DK64 features kick a** graphics, a huge world, 5 different Kongs to choose from and, oh yeah, TONS of bannanas to collect. When I was 10 or so, I didn't like this game, but now that I'm 13 (and not so intimidated by the enemies) I simply love this game. Rare outdoes themselves, and after playing through 5 hours of this game and finding out rare was bought by Microsoft, it brought a tear to my eye. Alas, what will the dk game be like on the Gamecube without Rare? I fear DK will meet its end on the gamecube, cuz the loss of rare will probably distroy this game. After all, twas not rare's talent to make origional, innovative, games, but thier talent to greatly improve, sophisticate, and better already great games.

Oh enough babbaling, I really should get back to the game in question. DK64's story is simple. K. Rool wants to take over the world, but he knows he stands NO chance in a head to head brawl with the great Kong himself, so he concocs a genious skeam (OK not really that thoughtful) To buy time for his little toy to start working so he can blow up DK isles, he steals Donkey's golden Bannana Hord, and Kidnaps the other kongs. He locks them up in certain levels, and its only through team work, persistance, and a lot of kremling extermination can they all be freed, and then its time to take on the evil lizard himself. Of course there are other characters. Cranky will sell u potions, Funkey will Sell you weapons, Candy will teach you musical instroments, and a mysterious Weasel named Snide who was former Pro rool and now has revenge on his mind. But why is he collecting Blueprints? I guess we'll find out later...

This game might be long, intimidating and rough, but I have to admit, there wasn't one time when I felt forced to play or when I wasn't having fun.

It would be impossible to sum up in 1000 words how great this game is, or why I am addicted to it, but you should find out for yourself. If worse comes to worse and Babbages or Electronics Boutique doesn't have it, check EBay. Whatever you do, DON'T miss out on this game. It will add years of fun to an already great system.

P.S. I strongly recommend a strategy guide. I have Prima's, which is a little confusing, but any one will do.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - The SNES versions were way better
I wish they would make a Gamecube side-scrolling Donkey Kong effort like the SNES games, just make the graphics better, retain the music quality and make more levels and longer. They included some lovely old games like the original DONKEY KONG arcade game, and a spaceman game for computer. There are big worlds, but that seems just about it. There's a lot of collecting, but the problem-solving is no fun. This series became really removed from it's huge SNES appeal.
