This is one of those games that deserves more credit than it got. Like most platform games, it consists of item collecting via several puzzles and platform jumping. While puzzles in these kind of games get very tedious, the puzzles presented in Rocket use common sense, and there's nothing more appreciated than that! Unfortunately, the platform jumping is still rather frustrating at times. But all in all, I whole-heartily recommend Rocket to anyone who enjoys the platform genre (which includes if you thought Banjo-Kazooie and Rayman 2 were great games). Rocket demonstrates very smooth graphics, mediocre music, highly original gameplay, and an amazing physics engine. My only regret about this title is that it ended way too soon. Regardless, I enjoyed every minute of it. You would, too.

This is definetly one of the best games I've ever played. It is not one of those games where you just go around shooting pwople and hopung you don't die. If you are looking for a game with plenty of levels and puzzles that require lots of thinking but they make the game twice as fun, buy this game. If I could I would have given this game 8 stars but I can't (duh).

The first thing you may think when you look at the box of Rocket, Robot on Wheels and see that goofy looking unicycle creature may be "This game definitely does not have any blood, gore, or violence in it. Where's the fun in that?" Well I'm here to tell you that Rocket is the best game out on N64 since Zelda! No joke! First, the physics engine is incredible. Boxes, icebergs, and magic carpets behave almost exactly like they would in real life! And the levels are incredible. On just the first one you're building your own roller coaster, entering a fun house, and climbing up a mechanical dinosaur. The only things I found wrong with this game is that the camera is very fussy, which gets in the way at times, and that while the first couple levels draw you in with the spectacular challenges of building a roller coaster and painting a Greek town, the others start to die down a bit and aren't as fun, but they still are more fun than that Donkey Kong game. I've played all the levels, and I can tell you that this game has just the right amount of challenge and the perfect amount of fun to suit all gamers. If you're even thinking about buying this game, don't hesitate!

Rocket on wheels is a wonderful game! It's not too hard to figure out and do, yet challenging. There is a surprise around every corner with flying carpets to flying insects. I love games that I can get through without too much frustration. It's wonderfully animated and artistically done. Hey, I'm 53 yrs old and love it, so it is not just for kids!

Rocket has two flaws that need to be said right away -- it's not as visually stunning as Mario 64 was, and the music and sound effects are put to shame by Banjo and Kazooie. If you can get past this (which I certainly hope you can), Rocket is a stupendously fun game. Without giving the puzzles away, which is the best part of the game, Rocket has your standard trick of collecting hard to get items (stars, puzzle pieces, golden bananas, whatever) guarded by a puzzle, and less guarded Tinker points (coin/music note/colored banana analogues). The joy is that the puzzles are all totally unique from one another; you're always forced to figure out something new to do to get them, as opposed to the standard, "Fight all the bad guys and get a prize," or "Butt-stomp the hidden switch," or "Push a few obvious levers" fare you might be trained to do. Rockets puzzles run the gamut from sheer action (dodging an avalanche of boulders that randomly shove each other around while toting a fragile bomb to the top) to abstract puzzles where you get little hints at best, and just get to play until you figure it out (no hints, but you'll know what I mean). If your first response to a puzzle is to get the cheat guide, save your money and don't buy Rocket; you totally miss the point of the game. Rocket is pretty fun to handle -- he's got a single wheel, so he turns very sharply, coasts to a stop, and tends to roll when he's on a slope -- very realistic. He's also a nimble jumper. His only real weakness is a poor ability to muster any attacks -- it's not a fighting game, however, and bad guys are few. All the bad guys are robotic bees and mosquitoes, begging the question, "Why would a theme park have hurty bee robots in it? Is it Hurty Bee World?" The worlds are varied, and unlike so many other games, there is no Falling Off Of Cliffs and Dying Alot Land. Phew. Enjoy!
