Its just as powerful as PS2!-Its better than GameCube.
The console was made to Kick N64 and PS1s candy-AZZ which it did because it supported Online,Best audio and best graphix.It can DO EVERYTHING that PS2 could except play DVDs!-Which was half the reason the PS2 survived-the other half was all hype.
SEGA went bankrupt because of this-But i want them to get that money back and keep the SEGA`s going.
Nintendo have started being stubborn lately as they are falling behind with their consoels-If N-Revolution is like that-Nintendo are going to have to bail out of console making and go into 3rd Party Developing for video-games-So Mario will end up on PS3 and XBox 360.
DreamCast is the pred to XBox-similar in it all!
SEGA will have to scratch up money so they can get back into console making! then we might see the Dreamcast 2!

When I bought Dreamcast I had a couple of doubts cause PS2 was out and I couldn't decide which one to buy. But I choose my first choice Dreamcast. After playingt a couple of games, I understood that I had made the right choice. Right now I have boyh the Dreamcast and PS2 and I can definetly tell you DC is much better. Specially after I played Unreal Tournament, Fighting Force 2, Sega Rally 2, Heavy Metal Geomatrix and Virtua Tennis, it hit me. Dreamcast is the best console ever made. And there are Shenmue and HeadHunter. These two games changed my life. I finished HALF-LIFE 2 and the HeadHunter and HL2 are like equal to me. So if you are considering to buy a system and if you even thought about the Dreamcast I tell you, buy it right now. You will never regret it.

I Just brought a xbox 360 a week ago, and I brought a dreamcast 4 weeks ago I play my dreamcast way more than my 360, and the dreamcast is the best looking console I seen

for all of those gamers out there that are getting sick of xbox and ps2, get a dreamcast!!! its got tons of awesome games and i think the dreamcast is one of the best consoles ever made. one of the funnest systems. i dont know why dreamcast would go out of buisness, but it did. o well, sucks. GET A DC, THEY KICK A$$!

I know this review is just a few years too late but I felt compelled to write it. I can't understand how the Dreamcast failed, I own a PS2, XBOX and a Gamecube and considering the amount of time it was out for it outperformed all of those consoles for classic games. I mainly use my PS2 now, mainly because it has basically full third party support, i'm not interested in performance and specifications, just the number of good games available. Nintendo are extremely overrated, and I consider my Gamecube a waste of money and I have a few great Xbox games but I wouldn't reccomend it over the Dreamcast.
In just a couple of years the following classics started out on Dreamcast: Resident Evil Code Veronica
Virtua Tennis 1&2
Jet Set Radio
Metropolis Street Racer
Shenmue 1&2
Phantasy Star Online
Skies Of Arcadia
Headhunter
that is just to name a few, and it is more amazing considering that the Dreamcast received such little third party support. It just goes to show that if you dont get support from EA, and their rubbish sport games, which just have a new number on the end every year, then a console can't suceed, sad but true.
