really fun to play but you have to get used to it. the only flaw to the game is sometimes its hard to see in some places.but it has so much cool stuff, like secret charaters and mini games and secret items that you forget about the view.i think its better then alot of the other fighting games. So buy this game!!!!and buy it from here or you might get a used game from one of those ripoff stores.

I was lucky enough to try the original Japanese version of this game. Although I'm not much of a fighting game enthusiast, when I got my system, I also decided (on the spot) to get this game. I must say that this is one game that is incredible!

I've been playing this game since it's Japanese release and it still is one of my favorites. While the single player game might eventually leave you wanting more, the two player aspect is where this game really shines.
The game takes a very basic approach to a fighting game. You have a punch, jump, and kick button, which can be linked together for combos and juggling type moves. The speed at which the game runs is insane. Once the round starts your heart is racing, frantically trying to pounce your opponent with a chair or table, while they're trying to do the same, and whoever collects 3 "Powerstones" first turns into a super charged version of themselves with new moves and a lot more power!
Also worth mention is the little extras you get for beating the game. New characters, weapons, VMU mini games, character endings, the list goes on and on.
Even though I've played the game to death, it still gets it's daily spin in my Dreamcast. This game should definintely be on everyones 'must have' list.

Wow. I have never disagreed with gamespot as much as I do now. Although they gave it a good score, they criticized it for being simplistic in it's depth. Sure the jump kick is a powerful move, but I invite their editors to try it on me. I've played Powerstone since it came out in the arcades, and admittedly at first I was a jump kicking scrub, but with much play, I found a deeper level to Powerstone's play. Believe me, once you take the time to master the intricacies of this game, it has a system that may not be as deep as Virtua Fighter 3 or Street Fighter Alpha 3, but it's definetly one of the more complex games out there to master. Perhaps because flip-kicking off the walls and using the various weapons is not as orthodox as the varios combo systems or linking techniques the videogames staff overlooked it, but this is a game where a master of the technique can definetly show a scrub who's boss. This game rocks and is one of the 8 launch titles I have reserved.
