Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Game Boy Triumph
I wondered, until this game came out, if Nintendo could successfully pull off a Zelda game on the hand-held game boy. I had my doubts, since Zelda games are characteristically vast, involving detailed worlds and dungeons, with lots of enemies and puzzles. As it turns out, Link's Awakening is indisputably the GREATEST Game Boy game ever to be developed. Link's quest doesn't take place in Hyrule, but instead, on the Mysterious Koholint Island. Princess Zelda isn't in peril, like usual, but Link must instead find a way off the island, which he cannot do without waking the Wind Fish. If I told you how he accomplishes this, I would feel like I was giving away the plot, so I won't. I will say that the plot is pretty impressive, especially considering the system it's played on. There are some interesting characters, and the ending is even bittersweet, which is great. The gameplay is spectacular, with loads of enemies to deal justice too, and plenty of secrets to uncover. As with every Zelda game, the player may become frustrated with some of the rather baffling puzzles, but this just makes the completion of the game that much sweeter. And the replay value is there, for as many as four or five times. The graphics are surprisingly good. They're crisp and defined, so blurry shadows that seem to haunt some Game Boy games. The music is also excellent, not too repetitive, and it suits the game very well. This is definitely a choice game, whether you are a Zelda fan or not, it is a completely satisfying game experience. Unless your really, really cynical.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
Me, being a diehard Zelda fan, owned the original Link's Awakening. While there isn't much diferent, it's still very engaging. Easy to get into and challenging for all gamers, Link's Awakening is awesome. If you like role-playing games, you must get this game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - very interesting
well, i got this game for christmas, and i tell you, i was really surprised, all about the idea. the plot is amazing! there may be annoying characters, who love to talk about totally useless stuff, but, call them once in awhile, and you'll get a good clue.DO NOT provoke the chikens by hitting them too much with your sword, or steal goods from the local shop, as well as shooting arrows at the wild fox( belive me, just don't). this is really a great adventure game, and i love the big space and game play. this is amust- buy for anyone who likes the zelda series, or who likes dk 64, mario 64, and banjo kazooie!!!!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the best Game Boy games ever
I still occasionally start a new game on this game just because I like playing it over and over again. I still cannot believe how much they put into a simple game boy cartridge. I mean this game is HUGE. There are 8 dungeons, a long "trading" sidequest, lots of heart pieces to collect, 20+ sea shells (you only need 20 for the "special" prize, I'll leave that up to you), and lots of mini-quests you must complete before you even enter some dungeons. The story is simple but gets the point across and the graphics are optimized with the Game Boy Color. If you haven't played this game, you're missing out, especially if you're a fan of the Zelda games and/or the game boy. Trust me on this one. I still remember when I first got the black/white version 5 or so years ago and it took me an hour to figure out you could use your shield on the spikey guys, lol. The game's bosses can actually be challenging sometimes which is something I see less and less of nowadays. Once again, buy this game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fun, Long-Lasting, and Challenging
This RPG (Role-Playing Game) is pretty easy to play and lasts a long time. To play, you simply asign a weapon, such as a sword or the hook shot, to A or B. The battle sequences are very good for a 2-D system and allow fun battles. It's often hard to find out what to do, but usually isn't frustratingly difficult. Many secrets are available which, while unnecessary, make it easier and make it last longer. I recommend this game for all people.
