i bought this game in it's first year and i was psyched! it's been a few years now and i still play this game because you can replay the game over and over unlocking new ships and levels.

Rogue Squadron is one of the best games I`ve played in a while. The graphics, sound, and all of the action makes you feel like you are right in the movie. It has all of the ships that were in the first three movies and there are codes to get other ships. All of the levels are full of action and you never put the controller down once you have started playing. You can play Rogue Squadron a million times and it will still be fun. That is why I think it is one of the best games I've played.

I could sit and bore you with a lot of talk--mainly praise--about this game, but I've decided to just show you exactly why this game is the best Star Wars game ever made:
Graphics: 10/10--Great looking levels and ships. And you can use the expansion pack for even better results. But it's not required for gameplay. Very cool.
Control: 10/10--For a game of this genre, you need to control your ships. Here, you can lock onto an enemy and follow it while trying to destroy it. The ships turn on a dime and some are better for certain missions.
Fun Level: 9/10--The missions are long and very fun. However, you can get lost in some, and that gets annoying very quick. Also, the game is not tough...it's not easy either.
Replay Value: 10/10--You'll never get bored with this one. You can receive higher rankings by doing better on missions, and the game is fun, so that's good. Also, with about 10 ships--give or take--you can try your luck at beating the game with other ships.
Overall: 11/10--No, that's not a typo. I'm giving this game more than 10 stars because it deserves it. I highly recommend this game to anybody who likes flight simulators or Star Wars. Great voice acting, control, fun and amazing graphics. Almost beats Goldeneye, but not quite.

While this title, being on the N64 platform, does not have the depth of story or character development that PC Star Wars games have, or that of say, Wing Commander, it is nevertheless a very entertaining game with decent graphics and very good sound. In fact, I don't think I've played a N64 game yet that had more speech than this game. The speech really contributes to the overall playing quality of the game, where your wingmen sometimes say things like "I need some help over here!" or your mission commander sometimes says "It is imperative that you stay with the transports!" The flurry of speech over your radio makes the fury of battle seem that much more realistic.
The flying charcteristics of the various craft make for a more challenging game, as well. Once you think you've mastered one ship, you're forced to learn on another, and it makes the game that much more fun. Try bringing down an AT-AT with your speeder! It took me a while before I figured that one out...
The only major compaint I have about this game is that there isn't enough of it! There are only about 16 missions, plus three "bonus" missions you can earn by performing well on the previous 16. In addition to the extra missions, you can also earn the right to fly certain other ships, such as the Millennium Falcon, a TIE-Interceptor, and those yellow Naboo starfighters from Episode I: The Phantom Menace
However, cheat codes are readily available on the Internet and even a beginner can fly these ships with the correct codes.
All in all, this is a fun game to play with an engrossing environment and storyline. It's just a shame that Lucasarts made it so short.
