I have long felt that strategy guides were on the decline. This offering from Brady is one more piece of evidence to confirm it. Most of the information is easily found elsewhere. This has been covered in previous reviews. My main area is the walkthrough. The walkthrough does give some information such as the type and number of enemies to be encountered. But it does not give you any unique information, for example known bugs. NWN2 is very particular about doing things in a certain sequence otherwise game glitches can occur. Many times the advice the walkthrough seems to state the obvious. All and all very poor job, check GameFAQ and see if there is a walkthrough there and save your money.

The guide is horrible. I mainly picked up the guide to get some quick and lazy tips on the crafting and influence system. While the crafting system is briefly touched on, the influence system is not, except to say you'll get a good boost here or there for some response. Also, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the guide, that had to give a second read to make sure I understood exactly what they where saying.
So if you're looking for an in depth look to the game, with answers to side quests, easter eggs, or even detailed boss and quest fights, figure it out on your own, the strategy's for a few of the fights don't really help, except if you run with the basic group, as in the original and first members you pick up.
But there are a few good points, but doesn't make it buy able. The beastiry is decent, and came in handy a few times. Also, the warlock spell progression list, and easier access to prestige classes as good. All and all, the guide is not worth the money, as was stated earlier more then half of the book can be found in the original game guide, and the other in the 'read me' or various information sources inside the game.

Essentially all of the information in this book can be found either in the tooltips in game or are straight statistics that could be gleaned from a monster/item database. There is very little value added information like strategies for character creation that are not patently obvious or already stated in the game manual.
The item databases and monster statistics are basically complete, but that's a minimum threshold for this type of book and they are among the easiest information to compile. That information takes up about 1/4 of the book. Notably lacking is any explanation of the EXTENSIVE crafting system or any useful tables for creation of crafted items which would save the player from having to carry around those stupid crafting books or guess at crafting components from the deluge of random junk items. Furthermore, the monster tables are just that - tables of monster statistics - any information of systematic strategies for various groups of monsters (undead, demon, etc.) is confined to a sentence or two buried in the walkthrough. I was extremely disappointed by these sections.
Racial and class information, almost completely copied from the relatively excellent game manual, takes up another 1/4 of the book. Notably lacking are effective character-building strategies or more esoteric discussions of the effects and utility of the various skills, feats and abilities.
Spell information, copied directly from the game tooltips and only marginally more useful than the game manual's spell lists, conveniently takes up about a 1/4 of the book as well.
That leaves the walkthrough at about 1/4 of the book. One of the main complaints about NWN2 is its linearity. Such linearity basically vitiates the purpose of any walkthrough. In addition, random treasures and hidden areas are basically unheard of in this game. The walkthrough does give answers to puzzles, but those weren't very hard anyway!
I cannot recommend this book to anyone except those who like pretty images and can't bother to read through the game manual. The book feels like a magazine. The pages are flashy but flimsy, filled with imagery but empty of substance. And the metaphor continues - both in substance and in esthetic it's something you put on your coffee table and throw away six months after you forgot you put it there.

I'm not impressed by this. There is some useful information, but much of it is regurgitating details about feats & spells that you can find in the PDF manual that comes with the game.
The biggest disappointment was that while the walk through basically took you through the game with some optional quests it didn't say anything about the Influence system with your party members.
For those of you not familiar with the system introduced in KOTOR you could converse with party members and get to know them better, this would affect how they behaved later in the game. Nothing in the guide gives you direction on which conversations can influence your party members or what options you should pick to gain or lose influence. In fact, the description of the NPCs is nothing more than the stats you'll see when they join the party and a brief 3 line blurb.
Additionally if there are any secrets or easter eggs in the game they were not mentioned in the manual.
Disappointing.
