Rating: - fun for a 4 yr old
I got this for my daughter for her 4th b-day and she likes it. it is short and she finished it quickly, but she likes to play it again and again. She can now get through the whole thing in about 5-10 minutes. It'd be nice if there were more things to do with it, but she seems to like to collect the animals.
Rating: - Excellent game...really cute
Excellent game!...suggested age group, 3 to 4 yrs of age. I purchased this game for my grandson, who is 3 years old. He absolutely loves it. It is the first video game that he can actually play on his own, with little or no help from his parents. Am very happy with my purchase and so is he. Would definitely recommend it!
Rating: - Very short but GREAT for my 7yo with Autism
I agree. The game is short. However, that shouldn't detract from the enjoyability of the game for very young children. I have a 7 yo son with Autism and it was PERFECT for him. He was able to play entirely by himself and finished the game in about 3 hours. So many video games are just too hard or complicated for young children (or kids with special needs like my son). This was a perfect game for him.
I would say a good age would be 4-6 or so or a bit older if your kid has special needs. My son gets extremely frustrated with most games because he is just not capable of playing them well and always ends up not being able to beat "level 2" and such.
I would not, however, recommend this for a 4-6 year old that has extensive gaming experience or is exceptionally clever with games in general. It would not be challenging enough.
Rating: - Great Game But WAY Too Short.
We just got this game today - the first day it arrived at our local GameStop. My four-year-old daughter has been looking forward to it for weeks. The game play is excellent. She was able to play it immediately all by herself and do everything that was necessary to complete the game... in two hours. That's right - my four-year-old daughter completed the game in two hours (though not all in one sitting). We expected that this game would provide hours of entertainment for at least several days if not more. The first Dora game - the Purple Planet - took her a couple of days to complete. She'd wake up in the morning begging to play it again. But this one - though an excellent game - was WAY too short. She is currently asking to play it a second time. At any rate, she's happy so we're happy, but just wanted to send out fair warning to the legion of preschool parents out there who will be purchasing this for their tots in the coming weeks, this game is extremely short. It is perfect for a little kid and you may not even have to help at all (this game offers a helping option for parents to play on an additional controller and aid their children when they get stuck - this was not necessary for us), but it will be short lived.
