Rating: - Better than consoles
I've played this game on almost all the consoles, and if you have a good computer. This is BY FAR superior. The biggest thing that sets Guitar Hero III for PC above the rest is the ability to have custom songs though 3rd party software. I recommend this for anyone who likes GH and has a GOOD PC.
Rating: - Guitar Hero a Blast!
This Birthday present was hard to find but Amazon had it. Good price and the game is awesome. Two other people went out and bought it after playing it at our house.
Rating: - Pretty Awesome
I fell in love with Guitar Hero around Christmas while playing on my cousin's XBox. I'm not really into video games anymore so I had no system. When I saw they had it for a PC I quickly responded. Although sometimes it gets stopped, or falls behind because there is so many graphics, it's still as good as the original. Love it! I just need a faster processor to keep up with it all.
Rating: - Guitar Hero III for PC - demanding but fun
The guitar that is provided with the game is just an xbox 360 guitar that was used for Guitar Hero II. No differences. I would have liked the Les Paul one, or even anything that was wireless. Having a wire can be in the way when you are rockin' out with this baby.
The game is very demanding on your machine. To me that makes little sense since there should be possibilities to scale down everything. I mean - the game works perfectly on a Wii, which isn't all that powerful! But Asypr did a good job porting this game to PC though - performance aside. I tried playing this on my XPS laptop, but once we got to "paint it black" the hick-ups were so bad that the song was unplayable. There are ways to "hack the game" and make the band in the background go completely black and therefor lessen the burden on the machine. Unfortunately that didn't help the hick-ups for me (I have heard otherwise on other forums).
There are custom packs that you can download for the PC version, but they overwrite existing songs and corrupts your save file.
There is still no downloadable content for the PC.
