Rating: - Easy to play then pull your child away!
We love the short games that this is made up of. It's hours of fun, and easy enough for a 5 year old to play independently. The best part is that the shorter games make it easier to pull your child away when it's time to turn it off. While other Barbie games go on and on until the end is reached, this one gives players the task of earning roses toward an ultimate goal by playing shorter games. With this format, your child will feel like she's accomplished something when you say, "It's time to turn it off."
Rating: - Good two player option
My daughters ages 8, 6, and 5 years old all can play this game to varing degrees. It has harder games that only the older ones can play, there are some fairly complex combinations required for playing a couple of the games. You have to be able to push more than one button at a time while looking at the screen in order to play several of the games. It does take a while to collect what is needed to unlock additional parts of the game. We have also experienced extensive loading time to play games enough for my youngest to bring books along to read while waiting for the game to load. But all that said. Once in the game two children can play at the same time for a number of the games and the others have only a small wait time for your turn to come up. This does not play like the other Barbie games but it does play like other playstation and computer games. It plays like many of web based children's game sites my daughters use on the computer. It is not perfect but my youngest daughter and her friend played the various games for 45 mininutes one day and the older ones spent all of their alloted video game time to play this. So the kids enjoyed it hang ups and all because they could play together with someone else.
Rating: - Not like other Barbie PS2 games
Make sure before you purchase this one that you understand it is not like other Barbie games where you get to move through a world. This only has mini games. I purchased it for Christmas, but in the meantime my daughter rented it. She played with it for about twenty minutes before deciding that it just wasn't any fun. She loves the 12 Dancing Princess PS2 game and adores the new Bratz the Movie PS2 game. Unfortunately this game was nowhere near as great as the movie.
