Rating: - My 4 year old son loves this toy
This watch is a hit. There are at least 5 boys in my son's preschool that have gone out and purchased this watch. They love it. They all play with them during recess. It's not my favorite toy because I have to help my son read which figure he has to transform into. However, I would say there is some educational benefit to the toy - it is helping my son read and recognize letters. He has me write letters so he can battle without me reading it. I must admit that having a light on this would be beneficial. However, This is his favorite Ben 10 toy . . . besides the figurines.
Rating: - interest holds strong
My son requested this toy for his 7th birthday. He's a fairly good fan of Ben 10. With most plastic toys I try not to spend much on them as they break fairly easy with my three boys. This one has thus far proven me wrong and has held up to the abuse of three boys who eagerly await to take turns wearing it. It's proven amusing to watch them pretend to morph into the different Ben10 creatures. I give it a 3 in educational becasue I think making use of a child's imagination is worth at least that in the way of education if not more. All in all I'm glad I purchased it. Well worth the money spent. No regrets.
Rating: - Very disappointing
This is not a good product. My son picked it out at the toy store to spend his Christmas money. We got it home and it wasn't at all what he expected.
It works just like a View Master, except that you need to hold the toy directly at a light in order to see the pictures on the little discs. Even a brightly lit room is not enough, you really need to hold it next to a sunny window, or a light bulb. This is a toy that you would expect to find in a fast-food kid's meal.
We returned this to the store the next day, and he picked out something different.
If you're looking for a Ben 10 Omnitrix watch, I would highly recommend the Omnitrix F/X Watch. That is a great product.
Rating: - Omnitrix Viewer not what we expected
Unfortunately, my 6 yr old son did not like it and was very disappointed. You can't see the aliens very well through the little peep hole in the watch. He doesn't want anything to do with it and I spent way too much money to get it delivered before Christmas. I was so disappointed because he loves Ben 10.

The Omnitrix is the perfect companion to the set of Ben 10 Alien figures that is also sold by Amazon. The Omnitrix will definitely be the perfect gift for any boy 7-12 caught with the Ben 10 megasuccess on TV. We got our 8 YO son the Omnitrix for Christmas and it was great. We also bought him the Ben 10 Alien Action figures, each of which include a small disk that can be inserted into the Omnitrix, allowing the kid to watch the transformation of Ben into the particular alien in several picture frames that can be easily rotated inside the watch (is sort of a watch-like mini View-Master).
Best thing is that each action figure comes with 1 (one) Omnitrix disk so the figures plus the Omnitrix guarantees great fun for the little ones at home. Highly recommended.
