Rating: - No more batteries!
Great product, works fine. You already know what it is and how it works, so just buy it if you want it.
Rating: - Don't buy too many rechargeable batteries!
Rather than get into the back and forth between the various reviewers on here, I wanted to add my quick note about something that was not clear at all to me when I was buying this from Amazon.
This package *includes a rechargeable battery*! I ended up buying one too many rechargeable batteries from Amazon and had to return one because I didn't know this.
Just keep that in mind when you're buying this.
Rating: - It's cheaper than the Battery Alone
I have purchased two play and charge kits. The first I bought along with my Xbox 360 Pro. Later I decided to go with the Quick Charge kit. When my nephew got his Xbox 360, I gave him a battery and the USB charge cable for his wireless controller, so that left me short a battery. It was actually cheaper to buy a play and charge kit than just a battery alone. So if your just looking for a rechargeable battery, buy this instead, save a few bucks, and get the charge cable for free! The play and charge kit works pretty well, it takes awhile to recharge a battery. If you play a lot (like me) and have the money, go with the Quick Charge kit. That way you'll always have a battery hot and ready to go when the gaming jones hits.
Rating: - I think there are better options
this works just fine but i'd suggest getting a wall mounted AA battery charger for your wireless controller rather than using this wire to recharge. The best part of this package is the battery that comes with it. You could then buy the 360 battery recharger that lets you recharge such batteries. It allows you to charge two at once but only comes with one so the battery in this is useful. That charger also frees up a usb port as it connects into a power outlet and recharges much faster. I found myself never using the wire in this package because I didn't do my research before I bought this. So there are 2 better options I think. But whatever works for you is what matters.
Rating: - Does the job
Overall this product is fine. Since I often forget to charge my battery pack until it dies, it is great that I can the charger into my controller and continue playing rather than running to find batteries while being fragged over and over while disconnected. The battery has a long life, even after almost a year of use I still can go an entire weekend of continuous gaming without charging.
The only complaint I have is that the portion of the charger that connects to the contoller/battery pack is a little touchy. Like an old Nintendo cartridge it has to be in the right position for it to work. The green charging light will not come on if the connector is completely in or not in enough. Not enough of a problem to not recommend, but not good enough to warrant a 5 star rating.
