Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - CALLING ALL DRAGON BALL Z FANS AND COLLECTORS!
Wow this game has to be the greatest game ever on PSone It is soo much fun though the moves are a bit hard to do once you master them it's FRESH as hell! I love this game!!! The booklet tells you how to do all the moves but the Meteo Attacks - (Meteo Brute Combo for Tien: Forward, Down/Forward, Down, Down/Back, Back, Forward, square) like for Tein he splits in two and they both start laying the smack down on you wicket style. So find a good FAQ for the game that shows how to do the Meteo Attacks and have a blast.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - It's worth ten dollars!
I don't not wan't make you fell bad about getting this, but it's not DBZ quality and lets not speak of GT. This was the last game I had before I sold my Psone. The game play is ok, but the graphics suck now I must remind you this game is old it's very old in Japand. Let me get to the point the energy blast suck they look like there shooting snot bughers. The characters look ok they fight pretty fast. look the point is it depends on how you think it is. I say rent it first if you dont like it or you do you decide. This game to me is just unsatisfing, but one thing I comend this for is the fighting is faster than on Dragonball Z budokai 1,2.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Very tragic indeed...
I don't even know why I got this game in the first place. I mean, come on, Funamation knew this was a horrible attempt at a fighter video game. There's a good selection of characters, but the game is easy to win (simply stand far away and blast away with special energy attacks). Also, music and sounds are horrible. There was literally no voice translations, only title translations. For DBZ fans out there, go buy a PS2 and get Budokai 3. You'll be spending about $180 more than if you've bought UB22, but you'll surely be happy.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - DragonballZ Ultimate Battle 22
Well, this game is okay, has weak spots and good parts. I own it. Now, the graphics are garbage. The characters don't look good. DragonballGT Final Bout is a better buy if you can find it. Ultimate battle 22 has a whopping 27 characters
! The game has all the characters from the DBZ sagas. Here are all the characters:
Goku
Gohan
Tien
Master Roshi
Recoome
Captain Ginyu
Freeza
Cell
Vegeta(Majin)
Future Trunks
Kid Trunks
Zarbon
Great Saiyaman
Android# 16
Android# 18
Dabura
Goten
Gotenks

Vegeto(Gogeta)
Super Saiyan 3 Goku
Kid Goku
Super Buu
Fat Majin Buu
Hercule
Supreme Kai
Piccolo
Krillin
These are all the characters available. 27 is a lot!! The game has 5 modes. VS. Computer, 2 Player mode, Tournament, Build Up, Build Up Battle. Those are all 5 modes. But the game lacks of story mode. The energy balls are really, well not so impressive. They don't got any reality. Just little yallow balls. The balls don't even follow you after they are thrown(homing energy balls). The ultimate attack for each character is nothing big. They are not much different then the regular attacks. If you got a PS2, Budokai 2 is a much better bet!! Now, the moves are not so easy to do. For example, Goku's best attack is Ultra Hamaekamaeha, and it is not anything special, but it is so hard to launch!! Man, DragonballGT: Final Bout is easier to launch characters final moves. Final Bout is a much better game, and it is 3-D, while DragonballZ Ultimate Battle 22 is 2-D. Now, if you have that $150.00 to buy DragonballGT: Final Bout, go ahead!! It is extremely expensive, but DragonballZ Ultimate Battle 22 is like rubbish compared to DBGT Final Bout! Now, if you already have DragonballGT Final Bout, then don't buy DragonballZ Ultimate Battle 22. But if you don't got $ to buy Final Bout, then buy this game. Overall, it's okay! If you are a DragonballZ fan without a PlayStation2, and only have a PlayStation1, then this game is a good bet!! However, if you are a DragonballZ fan with a PlayStation2, then DragonballZ Budokai or DragonballZ Budokai2 are much better!!! Well, I hope this is useful!! (Warning: When I said the names of all the Saiyans, I did not type they are Super Saiyans except for Super Saiyan 3 Goku. All of the Saiyans are Super Saiyans and not in their 'black hair mode'! You don't do Super Saiyan in the battles. You are already a Super Saiyan when you begin the fight when you pick any of these characters:
Vegeta
Goku
Gohan
Vegeto(Gogeta)
Trunks
Kid Trunks
Gotenks
Goten
All of these characters are Super Saiyans from the beginning of the fight!! When you buy the C-D and see Vegeta in the back of the box powering up with a yellow flame around him, that is just an attack or barrier to protect him from any energy ball attacks).

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not a good buy
I tried this game because I really like DBZ but nearly everything about it is dodgy. The graphics are 2D like some gameboy game. The sound is terrible. You're in the middle of a fight and its playing all this soft touchy harmonal music. The voices are like a 3 year old girl screaming. The commentator for the world tournaments speaks in Japanese and when you select your character half of the names are wrong.
Supreme Kai: Kaioshin
Tien: Tenshin etc.
Even in 2 player mode it is a bit dodgy because the combos take too long to do so your opponent can just bash you to death.
