Amazon.com Product Description:
Metroid Fusion is a side-scrolling action game that's more in line with the series' NES origin than its GameCube contemporary, the first-person action game Metroid Prime. In this one, players take the bounty hunter Samus on an extermination mission through a research facility to kill X parasites--nasty creatures that absorb and assimilate the powers of their host. After she survived an X attack through the use of a vaccine made with X parasite DNA, she can now absorb the parasites to regain health and obtain special powers, like the morph ball, space jump, and wave beam. The problem is that the parasites are quickly making their way through the research lab's many dangerous projects and subsuming their abilities.

As a special bonus to GameCube owners, Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion can each unlock special features in the other game via the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance cable. For example, by completing Metroid Fusion, you can unlock the original NES version of Metroid in Metroid Prime. By completing Metroid Prime, you can unlock Samus's fusion suit for use in Metroid Prime.

Product Description:
In Metroid Fusion. you get to play the warrior woman Samus Aran as she battles an all-new threat! New action, new enemies, same classic gameplay that has defined Metroid games!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Classic Metroid Style with Some Upgrades
If you've played any of the classic Metroids, you know what to expect here. This game is just like its predecessors. You will be dungeon crawling to find power ups for your varia suit. Most of those will be found within a boss you must slay. There are tons of secrets to find as well as an added bonus of fear. Often times you are forced to either flee from the major enemy or to hide until it leaves. It makes for a very intense gaming experience. This is a great game for anyone who loves shooting bad guys and dungeon crawling.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Fantastic GBA game, a must have
This was a very well made Gba game, just like its past on game systems.
I love this, and is probably my favorite for Advance.
The game is loaded with secret stuff, and it's so fun to be chased around by Sa-x. The only major drawback I found on this was I bought it here on Amazon, and not long after I bought it I found out it didn't save right.
It just goes to show you you're taking a risk if you buy games online used, so I recommend getting some games new.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - doesn't have that Metroid feel to it
On its own merit this is a very good game. However, Metroid fans may be disappointed in this outing. I am a huge Metroid fan. I have played them all except for Metroid II and Prime: Hunters and this is the weakest outing of the series. The major problems of this game are 1. The story kinda rams itself down your throat instead of the subtle story telling of the previous Metroid games. The reason the stories in previous Metroid games were so great was because you were creating the story as you went along. You were just given a beinning and you created the rest as you went along. Fusion tells you everything that you're doing and really tries to choke you with this overload of story. 2. It just isn't fun. The other Metroid games were fun because you were free to go at your own pace and feel free to explore the world your on. In Fusion, eerything is so rushed that you feel that you must go to your next goal as soon as possible. For another thing to take all the exploration out of the equation the game tells you exactly where to go next and gives you a mostly full map as soon as you set foot in a new area. On its own merit it is a good game but as a Metroid game it could have been so much better.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - GREAT GREAT uh-oh...
Hoo-wee, that was fun! Plenty of plot, tons of shooting and secrets, I just wish that there was more. X( Otherwise, yup, the bosses were very well made and exciting(except for the spider in the elevator. CANT. FREAKING. KILL IT.) Plenty of map not to get lost on, and the gallery photos are shweet. I give it an A- for being so sadly short!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The perfect introduction for kids to several different genres!
Of all games that I have ever played, this game is the perfect example, being the only known one, that can SAFELY (and I place a VERY heavy emphasis on "SAFELY")introduce the survival/horror genre to kids, while maintaining a VERY safe distance from the elements in those games which parents would often dislike. To use an analogy of sorts, I would speak of an old television program that long-time parents and young adults may remember: "Goosebumps", which was a relatively unique television series during its time on the air. It introduced kids to horror in a similar fashion, with just the right elements to win both kids and parents over, and spawning countless paperback children's books, despite being an equivalent to Rod Serling's "The Twilight Zone", and a more recent competing counterpart, "Tales from the Crypt", by delivering all of the punch by means of plot devices in the storyline, much like Alfred Hitchcock, as well as those traditional "scary ghost stories" that have often been told to kids (usually by their peers or parents) while camping, at scout activities, or at slumber parties.
All in all, I would say that before "Fusion", this was an untapped video game genre that required a very careful and special touch, which Nintendo, though versatile, has certainly had a knack for even when they were just producing "Game and Watch" games/timepieces before the days of the 8-bit NES. Nintendo was never an organization that would shy away from innovation OR quality, insisting on being the first in whatever they produced, whenever possible. Like the famed Baseball star Babe Ruth, they probably have one of the largest number of, and most spectacular FAILURES, (Babe Ruth struck out many more times than the average Joe) BUT, they also OUTSHONE any other organization as far as innovation, quality, versatility, honesty, and I could keep going on, but I'll cut it short by simply recommending a comparison between Babe Ruth and any other player of his time, where HOME RUN HITS are concerned.
You'll know what I'm talkin' about.

p.s., Metroid Fusion can be linked, not only with "Metroid Prime" for truly awesome unlockables, but after you complete FUSION, it can also be linked to "METROID: ZERO MISSION", and in so doing, allow you to view ALL of the different possible parting shots at the end of FUSION (on the ZERO MISSION cartridge, not the FUSION one), from the best, to the one that most people will end up seeing. If accurate information for doing this is not available in your ZERO MISSION game manual, "Nintendo Customer Support" has always helped me (in this very case I actually DID inquire for help, since I did not have the manual any longer, and still don't)
