Amazon.com Product Description:
This is the first game to feature the 2002 Formula One World Championship and your first chance to compete for the 2002 Formula One crown. F1 2002 includes the new racing teams--Toyota F1 and Renault F1. You can compete for, unlock, and collect Formula One team-specific cards to win unique rewards and access new game modes. Building on the challenge mode from F1 2001, the game now lets you set multicar challenges in which you compete against the star drivers from the Formula One grid, or enter into a team dual and test your driver skills against an opponent in an equally competitive machine. Use the all-new Slingshot Bar to slipstream opponents and pull off high-intensity passing maneuvers. Enjoy watching "hero shots" and other race-breaking moments from multiple camera angles.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - One of the best f1 games for ps2
As an avid f1 fan I can tell you that this is one of the best f1 games to come to the US. I will give you a brief description of what this game contains. First of all the game contains all the drivers from the 2002 f1 season, as well as all the tracks. Except for Hockenheim which changed for that season, all of the tracks are pretty accurate. As far as graphics go, this game does a decent job with the resources the ps2 has. Although you will get the eventual lag when there are a lot of cars in front of you, the game plays really smooth. In this game you can change the set up of the car to some extent, tires, wing, brakes, etc. One of the things I did not like about this game is that the flags and penalty system seems too technical. For example, if you're going for a chicane, and you underbrake or you get tagged from the back and you go off track you will immediately get a penalty for cutting the track. Also, when there's a yellow flag and someone passes you, for no reason you will get a penalty for passing under yellows. This game is also good for beginners, because you can turn on a bunch of aids including braking, turning, and turn assists. You can also turn off damage, flags, and other rules. This game may not be the best f1 game out there, but it is the best thing we can get right now for the ps2, unless you can get your hands on a european copy I truly recommend getting a copy of this game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome F1 racing game
Good game, I have been Formula 1 fans since little. This game is just fantasic. This is slightly better than F1 2001 because it adds the slip stream and new type of license challenge. So, it is a great game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome F1 Game
This is a totally awesome game. I don't even know where to start. First of all, the graphics are really great. The scenery is awesome, just like everything else on the screen in front of you.

Also, there is a Normal Mode for gamers that don't really know all the specifics of an F1 car (i.e. tire psi, brake adjustments, etc.). Then, there is Simulation mode that gives you a real overall grasp of true F1.

I have been an F1 fan for years, and I have to say, this game fulfills any desire I have for F1 at any given time.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - 5 Stars? Maybe
I held back one star, for the same reason I would hold back a star for every version of F1 going back to the N64 and PS. Challange mode and customizable drivers/teams and advancements.

Graphics, game play, feel and the overall experience is great in F1 2002. It's like going from the stands into the car! But to understand why I only gave this game 4 stars, we have to go back to 1989 (?) I think, and Formula One by Sega for the Genesis. For F1 fans of the time (and there weren't many in the states) this game had everything, even graphics for period. But the thing I liked the best was I could put my own name in the game, creating a new driver (me) and start out at the bottom (C class on team Sauber). To work your way up to the cream of the crop ("A" class with Williams etc.) you had to win races. When you gained a certain number points in the standings, better teams would lure you away, offering you a chance to race for them in higher classes and better cars. After you won it all in the first season and thought you had the game down, season 2 came along and kicked your arse! When you start season two, the first race, you find that the guy who finished 2nd in the first season really has a chubby on to beat you. Basically, the game difficulty went up a notch after you beat it the first time.

EA, PLEASE PLAY THAT OLD SEGA GAME AND BRING BACK THOSE GREAT FEATURES. Anyway, F1 2002 is recomended for hard core and leisure F1 fans alike, with arcade or true simulation modes available. Try running a full race (meaning the actual number of laps in a real race), in full sim mode. You'll be putting band-aids on thumbs for padding to play anything after that. I especially like the fact that FIA rules can be turned on and enforced. One of my favorite and dissapointing moments was winning the Brazilian GP, with full laps on, only to find out I was DQ'd at the end of the race for passing off the track and really didn't win. One last suggestion, FIA rules are not included in the manuel, so you should look at them on-line or at the book store so you fully understand them before you turn them on.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Formula 1
I like the game but you can not create your own car. I like the tracks and the 3-D replays and the crashis on the game I gave this game 5 stars.
