Rating: - did not work for me
I experienced the same problem as many of the other reviewers. Every few minutes, I got an error message about my controller being disconnected. There was nothing wrong with the cables. The only solution was to press Start every time it happened in order to continue the game. That got annoying very quickly! I bought my wheel at a local electronics store and took it back the next day. Save yourself the trouble and pass on this one until Mad Catz fixes their product.
Rating: - Sturdy low-cost wheel
This is a very good racing wheel for its price. Its sturdy, easy to adjust, and give that added realism to your racing games. Before this, I tried the Logitech Nascar wheel at twice the price. The Logitech wheel wasn't as well built and was much harder to adjust reliably.
There are better wheels out there, but if you don't want to spend over $100 on a game controller, get the Mad Catz wheel.
Rating: - mc2 racing wheel
Product did not work when I recieved it. Had a hard time contacting gamestop to correct the problem, but it was finally resolved by Amazon.com. Thanks for all their help.
Rating: - Does what it's supposed to do at a fair price
First of all this steering wheel will not give you the illusion of actually driving a real car, but it makes playing a racing simulation so much easier, especially for the casual or non-gamer.
I have been using it with Forza (plain awesome), Burnout Revenge (I prefer the gamepad), and NfS2. If the game has a preset for the MC2 it works very well, if not it takes some finessing to get it setup properly.
I believe this is explains the many negative reviews. This is not just another controller. Take the time to fine tune the steering wheel to your likings and to each game, and you will have an absolute blast.
I bought 2 of these and my 70 year old Dad will actually come over and play me now! He absolutely loves this wheel. My Mom and my wife are even wanting to take it for a spin.
As for being buggy, I haven't had a single serious problem with the MC2. One time I was playing with my daughter and the gas pedal would not accelerate completely. I simply paused the game, unplugged and replugged her wheel, that fixed it!
Build quality is very good and the wheel as well as pedals feel quite solid for a game controller.
I can truly only recommend this product!
If there is one thing they could have improved is to save the sensitivity settings, but I'm sure that would have added circuitry (flash memory etc) and thus made it more expensive.
Rating: - Poor Quality - Don't Buy It
Do not buy this. The controller keeps disconnecting and freezing up while playing games.
This controller is cheap, which just shows, you get what you pay for. I would skip this controller and buy something better.
