Amazon.com Product Description:
Customization is key in Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2. In this release, players can create their own riders (or ride as BMX champ Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, and others in an impressive posse of BMX pros), choose their own sponsors, and even design their own parks in which to complete a variety of challenges. As players progress through the game, they'll earn the respect of fellow riders. The ultimate, however, is to unseat Mirra himself as king of the BMX hill.

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 also supports up to 12 players and features 10 multiplayer games, including an extreme bikathalon competition. Also, the release includes eight additional game levels, and they're four times beefier than before. Tear and trick through a total of 11 levels with this edition. The game is completed by integrated traffic, including moving cars, trains, trucks, and even other riders and pedestrians.

The open trick system in Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 holds more than 1,500 tricks and signature moves--many of them motion captured off Mirra himself. And a fitting soundtrack accompanies the game, featuring cuts from Ozzy Osbourne, Methods of Mayhem, the Cult, Godsmack, and others.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - a bmx game with a good soundtrack
A good game within its own category considering its a extreme sports game. It joins the ranks of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, but does not live up to THPS standards.

However, the soundtrack is impressive enough to keep you somewhat entertained as you bike your way through the levels. It is a mediocre game but not of THPS quality so unless you have a passion for BMX then you should keep some distance from this game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A classic that will live on
This game has big-time replayability. I've been playing this since like 2001. The moves are real but the height you can reach is exaggerated just enough to make it a good video game. The boards are pretty big and the game is set up for you to explore the entire level. The unlockable videos are pretty cool. I love the fact that I can listen to my own music while playing. My college roommate had the garbage PS2 version which had fewer boards and no personalized music. He would always ask to play my Xbox version.

This was better than BMX XXX because the graphics are more realistic and the size and scale is more consistent. The replay feature with the different camera angles gives you lots of control. I found Dave Mirra's time limits to be much more practical than BMX XXX's health limits, with certain objectives that require time. Dave Mirra gives you 3 min to do as much as you can. Finish the amateur challenges, then you get the pros, then the extreme, then the insane.

The gaps take a while to find, but that's kinda good because it makes you explore the map more.

There are very few problems with this game. There will be seldom glitches when your rider will get stuck behind a wall.

I find myself playing this game just to listen to my music.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - this is the best in bmx games out there!
when i first received the demo of this "outstanding" game back in 2001, it was totally awesome. the tricks on this bike i could do were just, insane! doing backflips over trucks and high ledges, secret areas, the pain is real. it was just beyond belief. so later, that year i bought it; dave mirra freestyle bmx 2 for xbox. the stuff in that game, was just explosive and spectacular. the levels were huge, immense, and the goals were incredibly hard which is always good. the cheats were nice, and the gameplay is nice and smooth. although, i was a master at THPS, before i played this game, still it is overall fabulous. in multiplayer, where you try to outbeat the other guy in getting enough pain is awesome. create a park, that is phat; totally awesome. also the hidden characters are a riot. anywho, this is byfar one of the few best games for xbox. i'd totally recommend to any BMX or THPS fan.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Dave Mirra Amazes Me Once Again
What is there to say about Dave Mirra 2? It adds much more depth to the already practically flawless trick system (see my review of the first Dave Mirra for PS). This time you can modify grinds and manuals. Manualing is also a lot better in this game. More levels (even some bonus ones for Xbox users). More goals. More competitions. Bad graphics. Great soundtrack with with Gang Starr, Rage Against the Machine, and Sublime. Awesome controls. Cool riders. Create-a-park. Customisable outfits. Months of fun gameplay. Enormous levels. Don't bother renting, go buy this game now!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Dave Mirra 2 is starting to age...
When Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 was first released in 2001,it was pretty fun for the time. But extreme sports games have come much farther ever since then. With hot games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 and the underappreciated Aggresive Inline pushing the extreme sports boundries so far these days, there is really no reason to buy Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2.I will have to give it some credit though:it features huge, well designed levels(athough you can sometimes get lost in them they are so big.)and the soundtrack is actually pretty good(it features artists like Subline,Gang Starr,The Cult,Rage Against the Machine, and more). That will only get it so far though.I suggest you should skip this title and move on with your life because you aren't really missing much if you don't buy or play Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2.
