Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
The title doesn't lie, even if it does sounds like a hyperbolic pitch from an old late-night cable TV ad. With 36 tracks of various genres spread over two discs, Now That's What I Call Christmas might be the best, most eclectic "value-plus" holiday record ever released, assuming your tastes embrace crooners such as Cole, Crosby, and Como, plus contemporary boy bands such as Boyz II Men, as well as the ubiquitous Britney Spears.

In between there are the sumptuous classics by Bobby Helms, Brenda Lee, the Beach Boys, Elvis, and Burl Ives on disc one, balanced on disc two by more recent standards, including Bruce Springsteen's live version of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" and John and Yoko's "Happy Xmas (War is Over)." You're not obligated to like everything here, but that's why Santa invented the forward button on your CD player. --Martin Keller

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Com'on It's Lovely Weather for a Sleighride Together With Me.....
Ella and Elvis and Brenda and Johnny,
Sinatra and Bennett and Dino and Perry,
What would this c.d. be without Bing,
These are the songs that make season's ring..

Metamorpho's hair, a shade of Grandma's candles,
Can't stop the Steamroller for it has no handles,
A lot of the new songs are mixed with the old,
Doesn't matter if there's ol' Nat King Cole...

John and Yoko and Paul reunited,
Even the Beach Boys have Santa sighted,
Bruce Springsteen and Celine Dion,
And thank God for Britney, I thought she was gone...

When the reindeers bite,
When this season hits,
When I'm hit with snow,
I just remember the gifts that I'll get,
and then I don't feel so low.....

People, as in any collection like this, there are songs you, personally, would not include. (This is why they made skip buttons). However, they did a good job here and catches the spirit of the holidays. This definitely is a 4 and 1/2 wreath review. Some deserved classics here (White Christmas, The Christmas Song, Blue Christmas, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree). And, let's not forget, Metamorpho getting run over by a reindeer walking back to Amazon Christmas Eve! Ah well... it's all in fun.

Holly Jolly! -- Metamorpho ;)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the very best!
I bought this CD what it was first released and it has remained a favorite. It's the first Christmas CD I put in my player each year on December 1st. Since the price has gone from about $19 down to under $10, I think it's the very best Christmas compilation for the very best price. Now That's What I Call Christmas!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Now That's What I Call Christmas
This Christmas CD has something for everyone. A great combination of Country, Classic, Pop and R&B. I love it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Now That's What I Call Christmas!
This is my 2nd CD of this. My other one was kinda scratched up. It was like that when I bought it & it has gotten worse so I got me another one. I love the songs on there. I listen to them every year for a whole month sometimes a little longer. I have the other 2 CD's that goes with this one.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Essential for holiday music collection
Disc One contains such holiday music basics as Bing Crosby with "White Christmas", Gene Autry with "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" and Nat King Cole with "The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You)", title slightly changed from "(Chestnuts Roasting On an Open Fire)". Disc One also includes The Beach Boys' "Little Saint Nick". According to the liner notes, The Beach Boys never recorded a Christmas album. So how exactly does the author of these liner notes explain a 16 track CD I also have in my collection titled "The Beach Boys' Christmas Album"? Included on Disc Two are Paul McCartney's joyful "Wonderful Christmastime" and Mannheim Steamroller's beautifully done version of "Away In A manger". The two disc holiday set concludes with a very good and wise choice in the selection of the harmonies of Boyz II Men with "Silent Night". An essential for anyone's holiday music collection.
