You can choose to be the hero, Rick O'Connell, or the bad guy, Imhotep.
If you choose to play as Rick, your enemies include Imhotep, his living and undead allies, pygmy mummies, and the Scorpion King. Your goal is to rescue Alex, stop Imhotep, defeat the Scorpion King, and save the world. If, however, you choose to play as Imhotep, your enemies will be Rick, Ardeth Bey and his Medjai, pygmy mummies, and the Scorpion King, and your goal will be to use your magic and all means available to raise up the Scorpion King so you can take his army and rule the world.
You will explore a variety of levels, including the jungle, Karnak, London, and Cairo, and you'll battle against mummies and a host of other living, undead, and resuscitated enemies. The controls are easy to learn, yet offer enough depth and complexity for extensive gameplay. The game offers a wide variety of weapons and opponents, each with individual strengths and weaknesses. Spells and magic are an integral part of gameplay, as is the multiple-action camera for dynamic views of the characters and locations. I just bought mummy returns today, i can confirm that it works on the ps3, i love and i mean LOVE all the mummy movies and the scorpion king movie, all 3 jus got released on blu ray which i bought all 3 when i saw them, then i found out there was a game, i quickly called everywhere and i finally found 1, which was luckily in mint condition with the booklet, it helps to know the controls, sure the graphics are bad, and it may feel really block/bad controls but i cant help but have fun with it, for its time and it being a movie game i thought it was pretty good, once u get over how bad the graphics/controls are u will have fun even though it gets repetitive, its a great game which completes my mummy collection for now,
if any of u beat the game or your on the scorpion king boss fight, you already know its extremely difficult, i mean EXTREMELY DIFFICULT< VERY HARD/ SOME SAY IMPOSSIBLE, well here is a walkthrough made by me so you can finally lay the smackdown on the rock/ scorpion king, ENJOY
Make the Scorpion run into the stone pillars and hit him in the tail with your weapon.
Avoid the boulders and collisions that fall and collect the health packs.
Stand right in front of him as he comes down the pillar. He will try to slash you. Then, hit him in the tail then in the torso.
After you done that about 3-4 times, this time he will try to grab you. Run right or left at the right time then slash his tail then the torso.
Jonathan or Meela will have the spear. They will throw it and unfortunately will miss.
Repeat step 4 once more and take the spear and throw it at him and you win. Congratulations. You just beat a tough boss.

This game, in my opinion is only entertaining when you beat the levels and move on. Each level is so borign and the game is very difficult. It gets very frusterating when you are unable to beat it. I do like games to be challenging, but this is too far. It also has a weak plot and very cheap animation. I really believe they could have done a better job making this game.

I loved it! It beats any other teen game off the map. It has awsome affects and really far out sounds. It makes it like your in the game. You can chosse to be Imotept or Rick. If your Rick you get all these weapons and you try to save your son Alex, defeat Imotept and kill the Scorpian King. If your Imotept Try not to reserct any Cats or it can lead to some trouble.But you get all these spells you can use it is totaly awsome.

this is a great game with allsorts of puzzles and stuff i playe it for a few hours its great i have it you can be rickor imoteph each has different settings ricks is alot harder but you also get to fight the scorpian king.

I almost bought this game during two separate shopping trips, but decided to rent it first. Boy, was I glad I did. THIS GAME [ is bad] I can't believe it's a PS2, it seems more like a Game Boy Color, it's that bad. The voices are bad, the characters lips don't move and that really throws me off and the controls are horrible. The best thing about this game is the graphics on the box. When I returned this to the video store I rented Devil May Cry. Whoa, what a difference. DMC is caviar to this hunk of junk. Definitely rent it first, it is not worth [the money]
