Amazon.com Product Description: Even if you're not the type to bleat out the 1975 hit "Convoy" over a CB radio, you'll probably still get the sweats thinking about racing with 20 tons of cargo pushing your rig. In Eighteen Wheeler: American Pro Trucker, you'll choose between four 18-wheel trucks, and then ride against rival truckers and the clock as you try to deliver your payload intact and on time. The game offers 20 stages from New York to San Francisco, as well as four play modes: Arcade, Parking Challenge, Score Attack, and Versus. Eighteen Wheeler is compatible with separately sold steering-wheel controllers.

I think I played this game in the past. The point in this review is this.
I am a truck driver and for me most of these "trucking" games are trying to capture life as an owner operator. From what I have read on the reviews of this game are people who have no clue what it means to be in a rig let alone drive one. You will never get in a truck and be able to go 0 to 60 in any short number of seconds. I have a solution though, why don't you strap 80,000 pounds to your little toy car and see how fast you get to 60mph. It is not fair to judge a game like this unlease you know what a truck can and can't do in the first place. I will admit some of the trucking games are not true to life, because it takes a good amount of time (depending on how fast you can get trough the atleast 10 gears) to get to 60. In order to understand a game like this you have to understand the life it self. To be your own boss trying to find a load that you can make money on or atleast brake even to get a better load. For far the best truck driving game I have ever played is 18 wheels of steal for the pc. Ask any real truck driver and you will see there is nothing fast about any 18 wheeler. So if you are looking to go fast this wouldn't be the game for you but if you are looking for someing realistic try the pc game or even big mother trucker. the Pc game is the best by far.

Rating: - Too Bad, Why Even Make it?
I used to have a gamecube but I traded it in for a PS2 because it had a lot more games and better games. I normally love racing games but this game was horrible. These are some of the reasons I disliked this game 1 There are only 4 levels, HOW BORING 2 The game was just too slow paced with these big heavy trucks 3 There are only 4 trucks to choose from, just NOT ENEOUGH 4 It is almost impossible, you only get 70 seconds to travel halfway across the country, DUH!! 5 And, most dissapointing , it is way too unrealistic, both in physics and that you have to go from somewhere in NY to Key West in 70 seconds!
In conclusion, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING OR RENTING IT (And don't waste your time looking at it.)

Acclaim had the opurtunnity(spelled thet wrong) to make this a great game but they didnt use it, even in very easy mode the game is impossible they give you 70 seconds to go from NYC to Key West, did I mention there is only 4 levels. Oh my. This is a total insult to PS2. Avoid at all costs. Dont look dont talk dont even think of this game. Maybe it will dissapear soon,

18 Wheeler is only a very average game at best. I am a big fan of all racing games, but the action in this game is too SLOW to keep me interested. After playing through a couple of levels, I was bored with this game.
The graphics do not live up to the Playstation 2, in fact this game looks more like a Playstation one game.
If you enjoyed the arcade game, you may like this, but I would recommend renting this before buying it.
