Amazon.com Product Description: In Crazy Taxi, you play a cabbie in an accurate, yet highly comic, version of San Francisco. As you might expect from such a game, your job is to identify possible customers in the crowd (known as "fares" in the lingo), pick them up, and get them to their destination as quickly as possible. That's the taxi part. The crazy part is that traffic laws, pedestrian safety, and property damage are all negotiable. Simply put, the game rewards offensive--rather than defensive--driving, and that's what makes it so compulsively fun. Also, unlike most racing games, there are no traditional boundaries or predetermined tracks for you to follow. The game allows you to follow your own path... even if that means driving over fences or under water.

Rating: - ONE OF MY FAVORITE VIDEO GAMES
Crazy Taxi is AWESOME because you get to drive through the streets of San Francisco with four different cabbies and you can crash into cars all the time. My favorite player is B.D Joe because in my opinion he has the fastest cab. Gus would become 2nd because his cab is slow but I like his cab the way it looks, it looks like a late 1940s cab. I like Axel ok, but I don't like him claiming the YEAH YEAH thing over n over again, it begins to get on my nerves after a while. And Gina, I like her cab but not my favorite cabbie. Anyway this game is quite fun and awesome and it is highly recommended.
Rating: - Not as good as it sounds
Well, i thought this would be a spin from GTA (the ability to control mostly everything)...nothing like it. Every "mode" you select you have time restrictions. You cannot explore or do what you want. Basically, you're stuck having to pick up fairs and nothing else.
Rating: - A bit old but REALLY fun!!!
I just bought this game a couple days ago and I love it!! I'm a big fan of the arcade version and I think that this is better. The controls are a bit awkward at first but its preatty easy after a couple of minutes. A fun thing you can do is pick up a Mad Catz steering wheel controler and then it gets really cool. This game even though its rated "T" is fine for kids there are a couple of swear words but nothing too bad and you can turn the volume down so you really cant hear them.
Me and my little brother have had at least 6 or 7 hours of fun with this game. The learning time for it is mabye 20 minutes if you havent played the arcade version and 5 minutes if you have. Plus it has 2 towns you can play in the arcade town and the original one. My favourite is the arcade one. It really seems like San Fransisco but it doesnt give a name. (TIP: at the top of the hill pick up a passenger and he will want to go to the bottem so you can make some really sweet jumps.)
The cabbies are as follows:
Axel,A 21 year old man with green hair my little brothers favourite.
Gena,A 23 year old woman with red hair and is supposed to be hot.
B.D.Joe,A 25 year old man who is like a rapper type guy.
Gus,A 42 year old man hes my favourite and is really cool!!
The graphics arent the best in the world but thats probably because its a 2001 game. They are on par with the arcade graphics.
The only problem I have with the game is the music is awful its all heavy rock (i.e. look at my name) I mean the offspring isnt that bad but everything else on here is awful.
The final verdict is buy this game especially if you like the arcade version!!!
Rating: - Great for Arcade Fans...
This game is pretty cool. A must have for fans of arcade style games and fans of Sega. However, it was done a lot better on Sega's Dreamcast. Tends to lag on the PS2, as well as on the Gamecube and Xbox versions. Sega games will always be better on Sega Hardware. LONG LIVE SEGA!!! RETURN TO THE HARDWARE MARKET...
Rating: - Good Game Play And A Rousing Good Time!
Crazy Taxi is one of the most fun games for Playstation 2. Its not overly hard to play and the game gets straight to the point. Pick up your customers and drop them off at their desired locations as fast as humanely possible. Do whatever you have to do to get them there, run over lawns fly off ramps, hit other cars, whatever it takes. All the characters drive pretty much the same. The game play is a lot of fun and easy to master. This is one of those games you will think 10 minutes past but its actually 3 hours later. The single thing I think that they could improve upon (maybe in a Crazy Taxi 2 for Playstation 2) is the game should have some sort of Career Mode where you play an actual game where you can buy better cabs, get new streets to work etc.
I recommend this game to anyone who likes driving games and wants to have some light hearted fun.
