Product Description: Furious action is the name of the game as urban street racers known as the Midnight Club gather secretly around the world
Amazon.com Review: The main premise of Midnight Club Street Racing is that you and your pals take to the streets each night to race hot rods around town. Along the way, you'll terrorize those pedestrians who are crazy enough to be outdoors at night, and generally crash into anything that's vertical. It goes without saying that then you'll spend most of your daytime hours pounding out the dents from the previous night's misadventures.
Midnight Club Street Racing plays like a combination of the high-res street shenanigans of the Dreamcast's Tokyo Extreme Racing and the mission-based mayhem of the PS One's Driver. You've got two fantastic urban vistas in which to roam around--New York and London--and a jacked-up little runabout in which to do it. The game isn't just about racing, but about racing from point to point, too, or playing follow the leader.
Graphically appealing (if more than a little flat, but that doesn't detract) and speedy, this game might not tax the PlayStation2 hardware, but it might tax your skills as a gamer if you don't keep up.
Maps to the city are available whenever you need them, and make it rather difficult to get lost. It's advisable to try, however--there are tons of miniroutes to traverse. No route is sacrosanct--you can bash through plate-glass windows, barrel through underground parking structures, meander across parks, and even pogo from roof to roof. In this way, the game has a bit of that good ole Driver feel; although, the further in you play, the night skies and somber tone of the city dispel some of this feel.
Midnight Club Street Racing is a great game, and yet another reason for new PlayStation2 owners to smile. While it's not terribly groundbreaking, it's one game that's loads of fun to play. --Todd Mowatt
Pros:
Solid and fun race mechanics
Sprawling cityscapes, with multiple routes
Two-player games add replayability
Cons:
City objects lack definition
Only two cities in which to race

Rating: - A decent racing game.
After watching my cousins play this game during a gettogether, I decided to buy it for myself. I had only watched them play the "Capture the Flag" game so I was pleased to see that this game also had several other games besides that particular game. Unfortunately, as a whole, this game fell short.
First, I'll talk about the positives. As I said above, the Capture the Flag game is really fun. In this game, you race against other cars (you can choose how many you want to race against) collecting flags. When you collect a flag, you must then "deliver" it. Once you deliver a flag, a new flag and a new spot to deliver it is placed randomly on the map. With obstacles such as other cars, street lights, and the cars you're racing against, it's easy to drop the flag and have the flag stolen from you. This particular game is frustrating yet completely fun. Another positive of Midnight Club: Street Racing is the selection of options. You can choose to race in New York or London, how many opponents you have, what car you drive, the weather, the amount of traffic, among other things.
And what's not to like? There are three main options. The first is Arcade, second is Career, and the third is Extra Goodies (which basically is the options menu as well as credits, etc.). Under the Arcade option, you can choose from 4 games. As I already mentioned, Capture the Flag is one of them. Another is Cruise where you basically drive around freely. The other two are Head to Head and Waypoint. In these two games, you race other cars while driving to checkpoints. The only difference between these two games is that Head to Head has you racing one car while Waypoint has you racing more than one car. Out of these 4 games, the only entertaining one is Capture the Flag. Cruise is boring because if you play the other games, there's nothing new to see. Head to Head and Waypoint are boring because they're way too short and get repetitive very quickly.
The second main option is Career. This game mixes the Arcade games and a very dull storyline. If the Arcade games were more fun, the Career mode would probably be entertaining. And if the storyline was more evolved rather than a line here and there about what you're doing, I may have given this game 4 stars.
If you're looking for a good racing game, stay away from this one. If you're thinking about buying this game simply for the Capture the Flag game, I'd wait until it goes on sale to buy it.
Rating: - why does everyone hate this?
granted, it was relesed in 2000 but whats wrong with the graphics, sure its no gran turismo 4 but it still rocks. and of course mc II and dub edition are going to be better. BUY THIS GAME, i got it for $20 AU it is worth it
Rating: - It's fun then blah...
this game is very fun in the beginning when you are trying to get better cars and beat faster people... it kept me entertained for a few hours but when i learned the map, the techniques of the computer driver, and the shortcuts, the game became very repetative... it was just blah... i would recommend NFS over this game...
Rating: - good

The game is frickin sweet til this day i think. The cars rock and so do crashing and launching taxies in the air with the mauraduer.I think this game is awsome. But it does get a little boring until you unlike all of the cars.
