Rating: - Greatest game ever made!!
the ONLY game I have ever been able to drop a quarter into at the arcade and beat. 32 levels, beat the boss, and reset the machine with a credit. talk about value!
simply the greatest game ever made. i will own the arcade version in my garage someday
Rating: - Arkanoid
This game is pretty fun but the problem with this game is that unlike TETRIS or DR MARIO, the levels start to get really, really hard to the point of frustration and the end levels are truly almost impossible.
Your goal is to break the breaks with a PONG-like setting. You get the little paddle at the bottom and you have a bouncing ball and with those you bounce the ball off of the paddle and break the bricks. But be warned because some of the bricks take several hits to break! Don't worry because when you break bricks, you get power ups and extra points as well.
Like I said this game was pretty fun but I assure you, once you get to the higher levels (20+), the game really cranks into super hard mode and it's way too hard. Whereas games like TETRIS and DR MARIO, you have to be quick and think of strategy, in ARKANOID, you have to do that and you also have to have quick reflexes because if you miss the ball, you lose a life.
All in all, it's pretty good for advanced gamers for younger and inexperienced gamers should stay away from this one. If that happens to be you, check out TETRIS and TETRIS 2 and DR MARIO. Again, hard game but fun if you're looking for a good challenge.
Rating: - I MISS MY ARKANOID DIAL
This game stole HOURS of my youth. FRUSTRATING and ADDICTING game that recquires mad knob turning and spacial skills. 32 lvls of block breaking of greatness (unless you get that special lvl warp) that get sequentially more impossible to beat.
Rating: - An original game with no addictiveness
The game is original in a sense, and is a building block of sorts that other games have used in their own gameplay idea. The bottom line is, however, that the game lacks that familiar addictability that many NES games possessed. Arkanoid is a fun game, but lacked that little something extra to make it a cult classic.
