Rating: - Great PS1 game
In the opinion of this 43 year old, this is the only Play Station game worth playing. It's fun and very challenging, but if you play it with your children, you'll have a lot of fun.
It's the only PS1 game I've played that was fun for me!
Rating: - Oh what an awesome game...which was sadly overlooked.
Oh yeah, Jedi Power Battles. It's a shame they didn't continue this series. The combo systems were amazing and the ultimate saber does what all light sabers would do "in real life" namely drop fools with one swipe. None of this hit-em-4-times-before-they-drop crap. Admittedly the two player mode gets tough when you've got to jump on a billion different moving platforms but it still doesn't take away from the overall awesomeness of this extremely fun but sadly overlooked action game.
Rating: - The worst Star Wars game ever to come out
If you are looking for a brilliant Star Wars game, you're in the wrong place. This is the worst Star Wars game ever.
Multiplayer is tedious and frustrating, because if one person dies by falling off a cliff, then the screen moves so that the other player is inevitably doomed. This is due to the fact that the producers forgot to make it split-screen.
That's excluding the fact that there is really no fighting/action and that falling off of cliffs is the entire purpose of the game.
There are only ten levels, and rather than making the enemies harder or the action more intense, the producers decided to make more cliffs for you to fall off of! Yipee! And on top of that... there is a little battle droid waiting at the other end of just about every cliff you're supposed to jump over. He shoots you with his blaster when you are almost there, causing you to freeze in mid-air and fall into the abyss you were just jumping over. He is, in the later levels replaced by another droid doing the same exact thing. He's just doing it with a rocket. Brilliant!!!
3D??? This game would be better off 2D, because the position of the camera doesn't follow the player, but moves from one point to another to give you the worst angle possible for any action game.
The combat is limited, because you cannot jump and attack at once, and if you jump over a droid, it is turned around before you are, and ready to shoot you without a moment's delay. Or, if you prefer, it will just shoot you while you are jumping over it, because it always remains on target. This will leave you constantly pressing one button to attack from beginning to end.
As for upgrades and force moves that you aqquire; by level five, you have been given every force move in the game. Yes, I mean it, all three of them. There were more Force moves than that in the Star Wars games for Super Nintendo.
It goes as FAR from the movie as it can without calling itself, "Star Wars; Jedi Cliff Jumping." None of the jedi were ever in a Naboo swamp fighting armies of Gungan's just for the thrill of it. None of the Jedi would have spent their free time jumping from one flying cruiser to another killing random people in Courascant. And not one of the Jedi would have been stupid enough to jump from balcony to balcony to get to the Queen, when it was obviously easier just to use the stairs.
I could go on and on about how much I liked this game, but instead, I'll just list the pros and their corresponding cons.
Pros
1. Co-play
2. No blood
3. Good cheats
4. You get a battle tank
5. You get a STAPP
6. It's challenging
7. You get force moves
8. Based on a Star Wars movie
Cons
1. Co-play sucks
2. Almost no fighting
3. To get cheats you have to perfect the whole thing
4. The battle tank is in just one level
5. You can't ride around in the STAPP
6. It's tedious
7. You master all three Force moves by level 5
8. Doesn't really follow any Star Wars movies
9. Graphics suck
10. No split-screen
11. Only two vehicles
12. Only two weapons (including the grenade)
13. The fighting is boring and tedious
14. It may as well be 2D
15. Your force power is limited
16. And it's just no fun
If you're looking for a Star Wars game for Playstation, "Star Wars Demolition" is pretty cool, and hey, they actually remembered to make that one split-screen.
If you're looking for something with exciting combat on Playstation, keep looking, I'm sure it's out there somewhere.
And finally, if you are looking to conduct an experiment on how long it takes to die of boredom, then this is the game for you.
Sorry to be the naysayer, but this game really sucks.

Rating: - Poor game
I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but this is the worst game I have ever played period. I'm not a bad gamer, but couldn't even get passed the first level. It sucked. I sold it to some unfortunate for $2 and was very happy with the money. Yep - it truly stinks. I'm ashamed to say that originally I bought the game in the UK for what worked out to be $45. Oh, and the music and sound fx get on your nerves as well.
