Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A great game for any Sega Dreamcast owner.
First of all I would like to say that this game is awesome. I love the fact that it is challenging and there are so many hidden things to discover (I am confident that you will not find everything that this game has to offer). The graphics are pretty good, but I am slightly disappointed with the creatures, I am sure they could have been much better. Another thing that is disappointing is the blood, it doesn't have a realism feel. However, this might be good for the people who can't stand to see blood. The story of the game is excellent. This game itself is addictive and it is also very long, which is a good thing if you have ton of time to kill. The sounds and effects of the game are just amazing. This is a must have game for any Sega Dreamcast owner.

I wouldn't recommend this game for kids under 13 because it does get scary at certain times. Other than that, go buy it because it is not expensive and worth it. As for the huge amounts of negative reviews that this game received, I am quite shocked and I hope you ignore them. And another great addition is the Rob Zombie music, a perfect combination with a horror game.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Grief upon the Dreamcast
This game is poorly done and very shoddy. There are too many bugs that annoy and fraustrate players. It's very gothic though and sometimes has the effect of drawing the player into its dark world...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Playstation one graphics, get Beserk instead
I wanted a game like Sowrd of the Beserk for my dreamcast. So I made the mistake of buying NC part 2. It is such a horrible game. The poor graphics made me feel as if I were playing a playstion, and the hero of the game looks like a zombie himself.

The sound is alos horrible. There is little to no music. The only things that you hear are raindrops, or a leaking pipe.

And unlike most other scary games, this one has no gorey movies.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Excruciatingly Routine
Nightmare Creatures 2 didn't really have a lot of potential. The first installment for the Playstation was entirely forgettable and the sequel's premise appeared to be frightfully thin. Nonetheless, I was looking forward to a solid horror spin the oleý 'Tomb Raider' formula that would pass time. Yes, the game did effectively kill the clock but I was bored stupid, I may as well have cleaned my bathroom. Calling Nightmare Creatures 2 a 'Tomb Raider' clone is leaps and bounds too flattering. Everything about Nightmare Creatures 2 is dull; the battle system, the graphics, the story, the enemies... the list is long.

The Playstation version of Nightmare Creatures 2 looks very nice. It beats the life out of the limited 32-bit processors. On the Dreamcast, Nightmare Creatures 2 looks slightly crisper than the Playstation version. Yeah, you read that correctly, I said 'Slightly.' In fact, the smoothed over textures make the game appear sadly low-tech. The only thing the Dreamcast version's graphics beat the life out of is you for buying it. It seems this is a straight port of the Playstation version; the character models polygon counts are unmistakably low and the animation is shoddy.
The levels look fantastic occasionally but the draw-in is horrendous. The fog/darkness is literally so close in large detailed spaces (outside) the lead character can almost reach out and 'axe' it. For such painfully basic game in regards to visual presentation itýs just not admissible. If this was done for atmospheric purposes, which I doubt, the developer failed miserably. On top of that, background textures are a tad on the repetitive side, but not overtly.

The gameplay can be summarized in two words, 'ultra tedious.' You will either be fighting through totally spastic enemy encounters or searching for keys. Of course, moving around environments is a total chore. You character turns like a car set in neutral going uphill and walks like he injected Novocain into his legs.
The control is barely sufficient during fights. I can't even verbalize how poor the mechanics are when it comes to merely axing a zombie. The battle animation is so jerky that it is hard to tell what exactly the character is doing and the camera refuses to cooperate. Enemies often squeeze in cheap nonsensical hits into every fight resulting in a potent desire to activate a cheat code. Also, seeing the same fatalities continuously add to the agonizing monotony.

The story is cliché and forgettable. So forgettable, that I can't remember the just of it and played through the game a day or so ago.

This is definitely a weekend rental for the absolutely desperate. If you have nothing better to do, try it. Donýt say I didnýt warn you.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - So bad, you'll want to go back to playing the first one !
Nightmare Creatures for the PlayStation and the Nintendo 64 was easily one of the best survival horror games of all time with huge 3D enviroments, bone chilling stages, slightly good graphics, and superb controls. When the sequel came out, lets just say, it didn't come out to be as great. Well....actually...it wasn't great at all. This was probably the most horrible idea Konami and Kallisto came up with. The graphics are lame. It's like playing a PlayStation game on the Dreamcast. The controls are okay, but when you attack your opponent, it will take more than just two or three hits to kill your enemy. The AI is barely responsive! The zombies only give you a single hit, leaving you a chance to hit them even more until they can't take it anymore and give you a fatality and heck, it doesn't even kill you until you have a short amount of energy. Audio-wise, the voice acting is pretty cool. The main character can really put a lot of effort in his voice while he's telling the story. And if you guys out there are hardcore Rob Zombie fans (I hate Rob Zombie), you'll like the music they put in here. Mostly, some people would just buy games for their soundtracks. I'd say, don't just buy the game just because of the music. Buy it for its superb play controls, detailed graphics, and ultimate replay value. Obviously, Nightmare Creatures II is seriously lacking these features. Nightmare Creatures II is just another letdown exposed on the PlayStation and Dreamcast. Some people found this game very interesting, but I didn't. In my opinion, games this bad deserve a one night rental. If you're in need for a great survival horror game for the Dreamcast, get Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil Code Veronica, or Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare. Do us all a favor and ignore this poor excuse for a survival horror game. This game is a total disgrace to the Dreamcast survival horror lineup.
