Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - yaay-maknow
I gave somone my playstation a few years ago and not a day goes by where I wish I could play this game again. There is seriously nothing like it. Most fighting games are boring side scrollers. This game had several levels where you can run around and have a sword fight. This isn't a typical sword fight either. It's one hit kills, one swoop and they're laying in pool of their own blood. Or if you hit their arm with your sword it becomes useless. This game had the highest replay value for me and my friends, orchestrating deaths and racing to see who could jump off the cliff first to their impending doom. What I liked most about this game is that Bushido- is honorable fighting. No cheap shots, no killing when your buddys' back is to you. Take a step back and let them gather themselves. Or tell them they can get up and kill them anyway. Most Jedi-like fighting in a game. No one has used this honorable fighting engine. I'm still waiting for this on xbox but feel like it will never come. Some of my fondest video gaming was with this game. Utsusemi vs Kaun. Man that's good stuff. It makes sense that button mashing video game geeks don't like this game, because it's all about honor and timing and waiting for the right moment to strike. Best game ever. If you see it, buy it. Get a friend over and slice away.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Bushido Blade 2, Anything else is just not worth it
Bushido Blade 2 is the first fighting game that TRUE martial artists can appreciate. It's gameplay has not only realistic weapon fighting styles, but also an incredibly accurate damage system. For example, if you get struck on your arm by your opponents sword or spear, you will completly lose the use of it and it will lie useless at your side. If your are struck on your leg, you will lose manuverability; greatly decreasing your ability to dodge and run. If you are struck any where on the torso or head, you fall lifeless to the ground and die, losing the duel. There is also a first person fighting view which makes you feel like you're in a real duel as you fight with your opponent face to face! This can be great sparring practice for any Kendo or Kenjutsu(Japanese Sword Fighting) practictioner. The replay value is great due to the fact that there are 26 characters you can unlock each time you beat the game, and plenty of other game modes to open. The catch is, that you must win specific duels without getting killed in order to unlock a character each time. This tends to give you an adrenaline rush every time you duel a boss in order to win a new character.

This, in my opinion, is THE MOST UNDERRATED GAME ever to be released on ANY system. This is the only title of the original playstation that I still play regurlarly.

Buy this game, because it is simply an enlightening experience.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A step up...
Definately better than BB1 but still not that great. Like I said, Square should stick to RPGs and stay away from fighting games... Though the character designs in this one were kinda cool at times. It got boring, real fast.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Mediocre at best
Bushido Blade 2 is fun, with a realistic fighting system and easy control functions, but at this stage in the world of video games, it just doesnt measure up.
There is very little storywise, which is a shame because with one it could have been a great game. The character dialouge is possibly the worst ever written...and not even some very good (and fairly well known) voice over actors can salvage it. So what you get are sections between fights with main characters where there are short CG movies with really poor dialouge and almost as bad animation.
Replay value is just barely there. Even with a fairly large character selection, once you've sliced and diced your way through the game a few times your ready to put it down.
On top of all this is the fact that the game has become rare and pricey; the game is fun, but not worth the price.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - its good but not the best
ive read the reviews, played it and had alot of fun.story line weapons characters every thing except one flaw. now i no some japanese idiots think rolling heads think its cowardly and back slashs are too but how do you win against some charging phyco, weapon throwing akira yojimbo style armored, person with a double egded reversed katana? tell me tell me dammit.
