Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Lion King, A Good Oldie (by Laura)
I do still have a Super Nintendo. I believe it was the best system of it's day, and I still enjoy playing games on it. The games, such as this one, are really good; even when compared to today's games. This game in particular brings back fond memories... I was first introduced to this game at a dentist's office (it was one of the games you could play in a small room while you waited for your turn). It was second only to a Sonic the Hedgehog game as my favorite game to play in there. My mom saw me playing it and thought that young Simba was so cute, she bought it for me. It's harder for younger kids than older kids, as it was more challenging for me back then then it is now. Still, I can remember when I first got past the "Hakuna Matatta" level, and Simba became an adult; it felt quite magical to control a young cub in the first several levels, and then see and control him as an adult in the rest. Beating the "Be Prepared" level, and defeating Scar were also proud accomplishments. The bonus levels were fun (my favorite being the Pumba one), and even when I did finish the game I played it over and over and over. I did, however, never leave the easy difficulty *blushes*. Still this is a wonderful game, with many pros and no cons I can think of. If your mom hasn't already gotten you this, and you still have a Super Nintendo, then you need to get this game for your collection.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - DULL + BORING = BAD 4 OUT OF 10
I guess the people who like this game are kids, because this game was seriously not fun and was a boring stale platformer. There is really no fun to be pulled out of this mess and is basically devoid of clear objectives, interesting challenges, good gameplay, or a noticeable storyline. The graphics and character designs look great along with the environments along with some enemy designs. Unfortunately, all I found myself doing was collecting health, killing wierd and stupid enemies, and wondering what the hell I was supposed to be doing in this stupid game because apparently the developer did not make your objectives clear by some decision or another. So you'll find yourself wandering a lot and trying to do a task all over again. This game is simply a chore and a nightmare to play. If you want to buy a good licensed game on a Disney movie, go buy the far better Aladdin game for SNES or Genesis.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The King Of All Games
The lion king was pretty fun at first i thought it was going to be boring but it ended up to be pretty fun. Kids of all ages will like this game.

If you liked this game Check out the other lion king games out there.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the best games for the SNES.
I loved this game so much as a kid. The tragic things with what we loved as kids is that often our judgment is clouded by nostalgia and coming back to a childhood love is often disappointing. The Lion King for SNES (and its Genesis counterpart) do NOT disappoint. I found myself wondering how I beat the thing at age eight! It provides a challenge even for adult gamers. Not only does it deliver wonderful gameplay but the graphics are gorgeous. The music is also great and catchy. It's an overall quality game.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - an OK game.....
"the lion king" is great except i never got to beat it because i was stuck on level 2!! but i cheated with the invincibility code.
But i'm usaully good with beating games but now i get stuck easily so i got sick of it. My favorite out of all the levels is the fight with scar but at the end he's hard because you have to flip him over the rock! i thought he just ran off but you have to grab him, flip him and then he falls all the way down, and then you get to ROAR!!!! and "hakuna matata" was good too. But i don't like the mini games that much you have to avoid bad bugs in one and they're everywhere! and some of the others are stupid sometimes especially the one where you are pumbaa and you have to eat the good ones and they get faster and faster when you eat more of the right ones. anyway the game is good except when your a cub because you don't get very good attack moves except roll and jumping but the hyenas are tough! you have to fight one but how do you fight two of them when one is in front of you and another is behind you? it's too hard for me because your toast if you don't put the invincibility thing on there! I tried that once and i died right before i could get past the first part of the level! the hyenas just kept coming one after another and another one came and another one came and a another one came...
But that's how the game is and actually the hyenas are smarter then anyother videogame badguys! well at least for super nintendo. and the best thing is that you don't die for touching a badguy unlike most of the nintendo badguys that if you touch by mistake you die, they have to chomp you or scratch you good before you die! which is good right? they touch you and you die not the other way around only you touch them and you die!!!
so it's sort of a good game!
