Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Streets of fun!
This is another great game that came out during the early ninty's when Sega just released their Genesis platform. What can I say about this game? Great graphics, great music, great controls. Difficulty is not a problem it is adjustable to your skills! I usually play it on hard, just for the heck of it! My bro and I enjoy this game so much we play it all the time! (and he's 30yrs old!)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Classic Arcade Violence.
This 2 player side scrolling beat 'em' up is a pure classic. You can choose up to 3 characters to play from knee flying Axel, fast kicking Adam and athletic Blaze. The story of the game is you play as 3 rogue cops who fight through the rough streets of New York to fight the criminal underworld.
The fighting in this game is very basic but perfect for the Sega Genesis controll pads. It was one of the first games on the Genesis where you can actually pick up weapons off the ground, and hit your enemies with them. Weapons included a baseball bat, a metal pipe, a knife (that you can also throw) and a beer bottle that can be used to smash over the enemies head and then stab them with it. The game also has a trancy 80's soundtrack and very humorous sound effects. Such as, enemies screaming, Axel shouting loudly when performing his famous flying knee kick, women screeching and glass bottles being smashed over goons heads. This is a very fun game to play, even better with a friend. This was one of my favourite games when I was young (and still is today), which I have cleared about 30 times. For me it brings back a lot of childhood memories

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good
This is an arcade game for the megadrive which is on a cartridge which has six games to it, thus is one of them, I rememeber playing this with my brother ages ago I used to play as Adam and he was Axl or Blaze. There isn't many moves except punch, kick, throw, german suplex and weapon strike with various weapons. It was better ten years ago though before PS2 and whatnot. The levels are generally easy except the 5th one which I think is pretty hard, also the last one is because you have you fight all the bosses and then the main boss. Like I said before this was good back in the dayz, but is good for a play every now and then.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great game, instant classic
This Final Fight wannabe is of the lowest quality -- graphically and otherwise -- out of the three Streets of Rage games that were made for the Genesis, but it still has stout gameplay. You play a white guy, a black guy, or a woman--depending upon which character you can identify with. The object is the same as it is for any such game: beat the crap out of the same three or four enemies that come at you without end, pick up steel pipes to bash opponents, and eat food out of garbage cans to regain your strength. Finally, meet a tough boss at the end of each stage. Rinse and repeat. Overall, an enjoyable yet somewhat repetitive game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome, only outdone by the sequel.
I love this game. I played it a zillion times during Spring 1993 with my friend Andrew. I used to play Axel or Blaze and he would be Adam. There are 8 levels to work thru in a run-down and corrupt city led by the evil Mr Big. Beating up all the bad guys and the end-of-level boss is much fun. Level 4 (The Bridge) was my fave because you could chuck baddies down the holes into the river.

It also had truly fantastic music. The composer Yuzo Koshiro did absolue miracles with the limited technology of the Sega Genesis. The main theme, Level One, Level 4 and Final Boss are standout tunes.

I wish Sega would do PC version of the SOR games. It's not fair that only people with a Genesis can still play this game. I would love to own this again. It would be in my computer permanently.
