Product Description: Aliens are trying to take over the solar system, and you're the only one that can stop them. You are the best pilot on Earth, and you must defend all of the planets. After choosing your vehicle from the three that are available, it will stay at the bottom of the screen as a formation of aliens slowly moves down the screen. Your job is simple: blast the aliens out the sky. When they are decimated, you will move on to the next level. Fortunately, there are several power-ups available including electricity, solar flares, bubbles, shurikens, and others. As you progress through the game, new aliens with new formations will appear, not mention a boss character or two. If you are lucky enough to make it through all of the game levels, you will be able to play a version of the original arcade game released in the late ?70s. Defend the Earth from tyranny in SPACE INVADERS.

Rating: - It's Space Invaders... What more can I say?
Space Invaders. This game was one of the first truly successful video games, and many classic gamers hail it as their favorite. Sure, it's dated, but that doesn't mean people don't like it! For nearly three decades, gamers have been killing invaders, and getting a kick out of it. In 1997, Nintendo rereleased the classic for their Super Nintendo gaming system, which was fast going extinct. Would this rehash of a classic save the doomed system? Read on and find out.
PROS: -If you liked playing Space Invaders in the arcade, you're going to love this. It's an exact reproduction of the original in most ways. -The graphics and resolution have received obvious improvements over the arcade originals. -You have a choice of several color schemes - The original arcade tabletop scheme, black and white, color, or black and white with color stripes on the screen. -This version of the game includes a bonus, two-player versus mode. -Anyone, even those not familiar with video games, can learn this game quickly and easily.
CONS: -How many different rereleases of this game do we need? -The game is more or less identical to its arcade counterpart. If you didn't like it then, or you played it so much you got bored with it back in the day, you're not going to like it now. -This game is IDENTICAL to the Super Nintendo Super Game Boy enhanced version of the game that was released in the early-mid nineties (the only difference is that this version has the new versus mode, and that's not enough to make gamers want to buy the game again.)
OVERALL: Overall this is a good game that is more than worthy of its godlike status in gamers' hearts, but we DON'T need this many versions of it! If you don't own this game on ANY system yet, by all means purchase this version if you have a Super Nintendo, but DO NOT buy it if you've got a version on another system. It's just not worth it. Almost needless to say, this game didn't save the Super Nintendo from extinction...
