I have had this game sice I was a kid. Of course today I still play it but I do not watch Looney tunes anymore. Too old for them. I'm going to be 23 in 2 months. When I was a kid i loved this game and today i still do. The story goes that band of criminal cats called LOS Gatos Bandidos. The bad cats have mousenapped all Speedy's friends and hid them in different parts of the Cat-Badlands country and you have to rescue them and bring them back home. Of course you help Speedy to help him bring back home all his friends. And you must bring them back pronto which is fast in spanish. I am spanish. Even though I do not speak alot of spanish but enough about me. I am talking about the game not me. The game has good controls and graphics and nice animation for that time. Todays animation is much better. The citys are. 1. Sleepy Rock. 2. Surely Wood. 3. Fiesta City. 4. Ancient Keep. 5. Snowy Cabins. 6. Galactical Galaxias and 7. Ye Olde Bounty which is the last one. You beat level 7 and you beat the game. You start the game with 3 lives and 3 continues. If you have completed a level and you loved it you can play it as many times as your heart dezares. You just fun on it on the map. The game screen constists of 1. Number of lives remaining. 2. number of cheeses collected. 3. Score. 4. Time remaining. 5. Energy Meter. 6. Boss Energy Meter which only appears when you are fighting a enemy boss. Once you have completed a level, your points will be tallied. You receive points for cheese collected, time remaining and mice freed. If you are able to free all the mice in that section, you will receive bouns points and an extra contintue. For ech 100 cheeses collected, you get an extra life. Now I will tell you about the pick ups you can get. Cheese: Get an extra speed for each 100 cheeses found and each is worth 10 points. Magic Shoes: Put these on to become the fastest mouse in all of Mexico. 1-Up: Get this for an extra chance to rescue the mice. Hearts: Pick these small hearts up to refill one heart on your energy meter. Jeweled Heart: Pick this up to extend your heart capacity by 1. The maximum number of hearts you can have at once is 5. Tabasco Sauce: Drink this in the ancient keep and you breath fire at Los bandidos. You pick it up with the A button. Clock: Pick this up to add extra time to complete a level. And thats it on the picks ups. At the begining of each level, you'll be told how many mice there are to find. You must search each level carefully to find all the caged mice. If you run into them then they are free and in case you should be captured by Bandidos or lose a life, you will return to the last mouse you've rescued in that level. If you run out of time, you will start again at the begining of the level you are in. If you lose all of your lives and decide to continue, you will return to the begining of the level. Remember, you do not have to rescue all of the mice, but if you do, you will receive alot of bonus points and a continue. Each mouse freed is worth 500 points. Now I will give you bonus tips. 1. There are many other things you will find in the Bandido hideouts, Friend- and many ways to get from point A to point B. Look for things that will help you get around. yes. 2. Switches and buttons may open doors or turn off lasers. 3. Mousetraps, bear bellies and mushrooms will bounce you high in the air. 4. Search high and low- those Bandidos have hidden things everywhere. 5. Boot: This will push Speedy. use this to give Speedy an extra burst of speed. 6. Spinners: Speedy grabs this and twirls around the pole. Press the jump button to launch off of it. 7. Ziplines: Grab this and hang on. The jump button will make Speedy jump off. 8. Cannons: Run into the front of a cannon and launch up to new heights. I tought this was a great game back then and I stll think the same today. Aklaim did a great job when making the game 12 years and a month ago. if you still have your SNES and still bye games for that system and never bought Speedy Gonzales then get it today. 12 years and a month after they made the game. Because you will enjoy it. espaclly if you were a big looney tunes fan like me when you were a child. Thank you.
